What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
Before beginning my venture, I lived in New York, Europe, and Los Angeles and worked in various industries. My parents were business owners. I worked with them when I was very young, learning business basics.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
When I needed to pivot, there were fewer resources available for hands-on help.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
Be kind to one another. Join a supportive network where you can share resources and experiences to help everyone succeed. Develop your hard skills for innovation and soft skills to connect and empathize better with others, which are helpful in leadership positions.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
Today, women hold more leadership positions and run businesses than at any other time. However, there’s more room for improvement. We can’t control what others think of women. However, we can begin to break cycles of stereotypes by playing to our strengths and not being afraid to speak about them. Be the solution you want to see within your community.
What’s the most important thing you have learned in your personal life and professional journey? What is your personal motto in life?
It’s how you approach situations and challenges—changing your mindset to growth and opportunity. There will be challenges that might not go your way. However, keeping a positive perspective and a sense of humor will serve you much better in the long run. Where there’s humor, there’s hope and happiness.
With your grit and determination, you are making a considerable impact, breaking through, and serving as role models for many budding entrepreneurs. What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
Look for mentors who inspire you, then pay it forward by becoming a mentor. Be the inspiration and perspective needed when things get challenging for others. Invest in your career development to stay on top of your field. As mentioned, join associations and network with other women to learn about resources and better opportunities.
