- In her first company, issues of diversity, especially as a woman of colour was brought up but never discussed. However, with her authentic self she could handle these issues (11:44- 12:07)
About Melanie Peacock (She/Her) [PhD, MBA, FCPHR, SHRM-SCP]
Dr. Peacock has been extensively involved in professional HR initiatives as a senior manager, independent consultant, and educator. She obtained her Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction) from the University of Alberta, her MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (Western University), and her PhD through the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary.
As a senior manager and consultant, through Double M Training and Consulting, Dr. Peacock has led HR initiatives that create systems, processes, and policies that enable organizations to engage their employees and achieve strong results. She has worked for industries including telecommunications, oil and gas, medical research, financial management, and not-for-profit entities and continues to work as an independent consultant. Due to her extensive knowledge and competencies, Dr. Peacock is a sought-after media contributor and commentator at the municipal, provincial, and national levels. In addition to this text, Dr. Peacock has authored books regarding training and development and change management.
