Meet Yorik Tisseau, a leadership coach and trainer whose story is one of transformation, courage, and rediscovery. After two decades in the high-pressure world of commercial development and engineering, Yorik made a bold decision to slow down and reconnect with his true purpose — helping people grow. His transition from managing projects to empowering people reflects a profound understanding of leadership rooted in authenticity, balance, and continuous self-evolution. Humans of Fuzia celebrates Yorik’s journey as he guides others to rediscover themselves and lead with purpose.
Q: What inspired you to start your journey as a leadership coach and trainer?
Yorik: I worked for many years in commercial development on large engineering projects, but after a while, I felt disconnected. I realized I had lost my motivation and purpose. So, I decided to slow down and do some inner work — to understand what truly mattered to me. That journey brought me back to my original dream — teaching and helping people grow. Now, through coaching and leadership training, I find energy in seeing others transform and evolve.
Q: Are you currently working solo, or do you have a team supporting your work?
Yorik: I’m a solopreneur. I handle it all myself, which allows me to stay closely connected to my clients and the process of personal transformation.
Q: What has been your biggest milestone so far?
Yorik: It’s quite recent — I started my business just four weeks ago and already signed my first client. I’m also collaborating with MBA schools for masterclasses and developing partnerships with leadership organizations. It’s a big transition, but things are moving in the right direction.
Q: You’ve worked in male-dominated industries like construction and energy. What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
Yorik: We absolutely need more women leaders. I’ve seen first-hand how women often reach a ceiling much faster than men in certain industries. Progress is being made — ESG has helped bring more women into boardrooms — but middle and senior management still need more representation. Leadership is healthiest when it’s balanced. Men and women bring different perspectives, and both are essential. Empowerment cannot happen without collaboration — He for She and She for She.
Q: What is your message for aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
Yorik: You can achieve anything you want — but you must first be clear about what you truly want. The imposter syndrome is self-created. Leadership begins with inner work. Once you align with your purpose and believe in yourself, anything is possible.
Q: How do you define success — both professionally and personally?
Yorik: Success is becoming yourself. It’s about balance — between work, life, and self. Too often, people live by habits or external expectations. True success comes when you find the courage to slow down, think deeply, and choose your own path. Once you do that, clarity follows — and with it, fulfillment.
“It takes courage to slow down, to stop listening to the noise around you, and to become yourself. But once you do, life unfolds with clarity and purpose.” — Yorik Tisseau
