Could you elaborate on the nature of your business, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?

As an independent board director and HR committee chair at various multinational companies, my role is to help organizations transform people strategy into business strategy and drive sustainable growth.

As an HR consultant, I emphasize that Human Resources is far more than just hiring and firing—it’s about unlocking human potential. To me, HR means:
“Human + Resources = Impact.”

My passion lies in uplifting people, helping them discover their greatest potential through coaching and strategic guidance, ultimately enabling them to make a meaningful impact within their organizations.

What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and entrepreneur? Were there any specific events, challenges, or people that motivated you to take this path?

I used to play table tennis in high school in China. As a teenager, I went through a dark period, but my table tennis coach never gave up on me. She taught me about the “home field mindset”—a lesson that has motivated me throughout my life, even now in America.

I love being a coach because a coach’s success is realized through the achievements of others. A sports coach inspires and challenges players during daily practices and games, uplifting the entire team with their energy. Similarly, a career coach plays a critical role within an organization by identifying both formal and informal influencers, uncovering people’s hidden potential, and placing them in roles where they can maximize their value while aligning with business objectives.

My table tennis coach inspired me, and now, I strive to ignite that same passion in others—helping them unlock their potential and achieve greatness.

Looking back at the beginning of your career, what were the major challenges you faced when establishing yourself as a leader/coach? How did you overcome those obstacles?

Every organization faces unique challenges when it comes to management capabilities and leadership. If you have a confident and inspiring manager, consider yourself lucky! But if you don’t, one of the most effective approaches is to learn from poor leadership—without repeating it.

Ask yourself:

  • What can I do to make a difference?
  • How do I want to be treated in the future?

Transform wishful thinking into willful action—if you believe things can be better, take steps to create change. However, changing an entire company culture alone is difficult. If the environment isn’t a good fit, sometimes the wisest decision is to step away, rather than draining your energy trying to fix what is beyond your control.

Time flies, and you are the pilot. Choose a path that allows you to lead with authenticity and integrity—those values will guide you to the right opportunities.

Would you like to share any remarkable achievements?

As a Board Director and HR Committee Chair for two African companies, I have witnessed transformative advancements driven by innovation and technology.

Enterprise Computing Limited made Ghana the first country in West Africa to benefit from Microsoft’s 3D telemedicine technology, revolutionizing remote healthcare access.

Mofmed Medical Solutions Limited was accepted into the NVIDIA Inception Program, positioning them to deliver cutting-edge technology-driven medical solutions that will significantly impact Nigeria’s healthcare industry.

During my time in Kenya, supporting a USAID-funded project, I was deeply inspired by the Maasai community’s eagerness for change. Their willingness to embrace technology and adopt new HR concepts after my training reaffirmed the power of innovation in driving sustainable development.

Women are a growing force in workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. What are your thoughts about women in leadership today?

Women in leadership are shaping the future of work. If we seek equal treatment alongside our male counterparts, we must demonstrate that the value we bring to the table is just as critical to success.

Beyond professional roles, women shoulder additional social responsibilities—as mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, and partners. Leading by example is the key to earning respect and building a strong reputation.

True leadership isn’t about forcing others to accept our advice based on past experiences. Instead, we must stay informed, forward-thinking, and adaptable. By being professional, thoughtful, and kind, we can drive meaningful change and shape a more inclusive and equitable future.

What message/advice would you have for future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs?

Be authentic, be kind, and be helpful.
