Can you tell us about your background and what inspired your journey into leadership?

My career began with studying economics and completing an MBA. Like many people early in their careers, I wasn’t entirely sure what path I wanted to pursue. Coming from a family background in accounting and finance — and growing up in a military family where relocation was common — I chose a career that would allow me financial independence and stability regardless of location.

Economics helped me understand the world through structure and logic, but over time I realized that people don’t always behave rationally. That curiosity about human behavior led me to explore how individuals develop, make decisions, and respond to change.

I worked with large consulting firms for about 12 years, helping organizations implement major systems and enterprise solutions. However, I noticed that even when systems were successfully implemented, organizations often struggled to achieve the expected results because they overlooked cultural and behavioral change. This realization inspired my transition into leadership development — helping leaders manage transformation holistically by focusing on people, culture, and purpose.

How did your professional experiences shape your leadership work?

Throughout my career, I consistently asked myself where I truly fit and what purpose my work served. At several stages, I sought career counseling, attended retreats, and worked through self-discovery exercises to gain clarity about my direction.

This personal exploration shaped my approach to leadership. Today, a core part of my work involves helping leaders define their values, vision, and purpose within the context of their environment. Many professionals spend their days fulfilling responsibilities without ever reflecting on what truly matters to them or what contribution they want to make.

My work focuses on helping leaders understand who they are, what they want to contribute, and how they can grow within the realities of their circumstances while building meaningful impact.

Can you tell us about your books and leadership programs?

I began writing books initially to support my MBA students in understanding purpose, leadership development, and career growth. Over time, this work expanded into multiple publications designed for different audiences — including global leaders, nonprofit leaders, healthcare professionals, and emerging managers.

The programs and resources I developed help leaders:

  • Discover their purpose and values
  • Understand their environment and opportunities
  • Build leadership capabilities
  • Navigate personal and professional growth paths
  • Align their careers with meaningful contribution

The goal is to provide practical frameworks that help individuals evolve as leaders while working within real-world conditions.

What advice would you give to young professionals and entrepreneurs seeking meaningful careers?

It’s important to understand that career paths are rarely linear. We often learn by trying different directions, facing uncertainty, and continuously adapting. Financial planning is essential, especially for entrepreneurs, because the journey can include both successful and challenging periods.

Another important lesson is that we learn to do difficult things by actually doing them. Growth requires courage, resilience, and persistence.

I also encourage people to recognize that it’s okay to do things simply because you love them — not everything needs to become a business or source of income. Fulfillment can come from contributing in meaningful ways beyond financial gain.

What message would you like to share with women and future leaders?

Supporting one another is essential, especially among women. When we help each other grow, we create stronger communities and a better future for the next generation.

If you are committed to doing meaningful work, people will support you. Focus on contributing positively, helping others, and building the world you want your children to inherit.

Can you tell us about your initiatives to make leadership knowledge accessible?

One of the ways I support others is through my leadership podcast, which features global thought leaders, academics, and award-winning professionals. It provides accessible insights for individuals who may not have access to books, formal programs, or leadership training.

The goal is to create learning opportunities that inspire and empower people — especially young women and emerging leaders — to grow and develop their potential.

“We grow by doing hard things. Support one another, stay committed to meaningful work, and build the future you want to see.”
