Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Coaching, Women Empowerment, Growth Systems and Social Impact: Katrina van Oudheusden’s Blueprint for Sustainable Business

Katrina van Oudheusden

What if the fastest way to grow a business is knowing when not to grow faster?

For nearly two decades, digital marketing and business growth strategist Katrina van Oudheusden has watched entrepreneurs build successful businesses—only to leave them behind. Her mission today is more deliberate: help more women successfully build a business and stay in business.

Speaking with Humans of Fuzia (HOF), Katrina shared a powerful philosophy: sustainable entrepreneurship begins by designing the business around the entrepreneur—not forcing the entrepreneur to fit the business.

Women in Leadership: Building Businesses That Support Real Life

Katrina’s experience has shaped her belief that women entrepreneurs need more than conventional growth strategies.

“We need to feel supported,” she explains, pointing to the combined pressures of business, family and caregiving. For her, building a team is not simply about increasing capacity; it is about creating the support structure required for sustainable leadership.

That perspective challenges the traditional 90-day growth mentality. Katrina has personally coached 64 people in a month—and says she would not recommend repeating it.

Her question now is different: “Are you building for speed? Are you building for longevity?”

Growth Systems, Delegation and Scalable Entrepreneurship

Katrina identifies control as a major barrier to effective delegation. Her solution is practical: hire someone who can handle approximately 80% of a responsibility, then give them autonomy to bring their own strengths to the remaining 20%.

Effective delegation, she argues, is not simply handing over tasks. It means teaching responsibility, establishing ownership and connecting each role to the company’s customers, mission and vision.

This is especially relevant in 2026, when founders face increasing complexity around team accountability, client acquisition, messaging clarity and scalable business systems.

Coaching, Social Impact and the Create Her Method

Katrina’s Create Her Planner reflects her broader approach to women empowerment and business growth. Rather than treating productivity as an endless task list, her methodology creates space for creativity, capacity and personal rhythms.

Her upcoming work includes the Create Her Method, certification, planner and Create Her Reset experiences—designed around a more intentional approach to planning, growth and pause.

Her philosophy extends into client acquisition, too. “Caring about the customer more than you care about your business” means being willing to tell a potential client when the service is not the right fit.

That, Katrina believes, is what honest entrepreneurship looks like.

Execution Tip

Review your current responsibilities and identify one task you are holding onto because you believe nobody can do it your way. Document the desired outcome, delegate the responsibility and give the person room to own it.

Sustainable leadership is not about doing everything better yourself. It is about building systems and people that allow the business to grow without sacrificing the people behind it.

Humans of Fuzia brings these real-world perspectives together at the intersection of leadership, entrepreneurship, coaching, women empowerment and socially conscious business, helping coaches and small-business entrepreneurs learn from the journeys of others.
