Karl Klausewitz: Guiding entrepreneurs to live with purpose and build sustainable success

Karl Klausewitz

Karl Klausewitz is a purpose coach who helps entrepreneurs connect with their authentic selves and align their work with deeper meaning. With a diverse background in literature, IT, fundraising, and marketing, Karl eventually realized that true fulfillment lay in charting his own path. Since 2020, he has been coaching individuals to build intentional lives and businesses rooted in purpose rather than just profit. His journey reflects resilience, authenticity, and a vision for long-term impact — values we at Humans of Fuzia proudly share with our global community.

Q: Tell us about your journey into entrepreneurship.
I studied English literature, even though my father was a computer science professor. After graduation, I worked in computers, nonprofit fundraising, and IT healthcare. Over time, I realized I wasn’t going to achieve everything I wanted in life while working for someone else. In the early 2000s, internet marketing was taking off, and I experimented with that space. I also tried MLM but noticed that the top marketers were coaches. Since I had already coached swimming and sports as a teenager, it made sense to return to that skill set. I began by coaching friends and family, then expanded through LinkedIn. By 2020, I had founded my own coaching business and have been working professionally ever since.

Q: You started during the pandemic, a difficult time for many businesses. How did you overcome that challenge?
For me, the key was simple: outreach and real conversations. I don’t think there’s any substitute for talking to people directly. In-person or one-on-one conversations are still the fastest way to build a business.

Q: What advice would you give to entrepreneurs just starting out?
As a purpose coach, I believe it’s essential to focus on why you’re doing what you’re doing. Chasing money alone isn’t sustainable. You’ll eventually burn out or feel unfulfilled. But if you focus on your purpose — your authentic “why” — that’s what will sustain you and give your career longevity. Purpose is the foundation of resilience.

Q: Do you run your business solo, or do you have a team?
I’m mostly solo, though I’ve worked with different marketing teams over the years. I think delegation is really important. There’s a myth that entrepreneurs should do everything themselves, but in reality, nobody builds lasting success alone. Learning from mentors and leaning on experts can save you years of struggle.

Q: Do you have any upcoming projects or goals for the near future?
I’ve hosted events on LinkedIn and run a podcast, but right now I’m starting a new company with friends. We’re still in the early planning stages, though we’ll be launching events soon. In the short term, I’d love to help a million entrepreneurs earn $1,000 a week — that would be an incredible milestone. Long-term, my vision is even bigger: I want to build schools, universities, and institutions that empower people I may never meet. For me, enabling others at scale is the highest type of goal.
