What inspired you to start your journey, and how did it all begin?

I was a park ranger for many years, and during that time, I started my first podcast, The Park Leader Show. Through it, I met Lee Cockerell, the former Executive Vice President of Walt Disney World. He’s been a mentor, business partner, and a major influence in my career. Working with him has been an incredible learning experience, and many of my best opportunities have stemmed from our partnership.

What were some of the challenges you faced early on, and how did you overcome them?

Transitioning from a traditional job to building a business from scratch was tough. After earning my MBA and working in corporate marketing, I stepped out on my own. At first, things were great, but then it slowed down. I questioned my decisions, as many do. But I learned the value of relationships—building a strong network, attending conferences, and saying yes to opportunities. Often, the people you meet today will help you overcome tomorrow’s challenges.

Can you share a proud moment or a milestone in your journey?

One of my proudest moments was celebrating the 500th episode of the Creating Disney Magic podcast with Lee Cockerell. We invited our listeners to join us for a live recording—it was such a rewarding experience. Most podcasts don’t last beyond 10 episodes, and to reach over 500 is a testament to consistency and connection with our audience.

How do you feel your work makes a difference in people’s lives?

The most meaningful moments are when individuals tell me I helped them get promoted or become a better leader. Whether it’s through a podcast or consulting, those one-on-one messages where someone says, “You changed my perspective” or “You helped me grow”—that’s what matters most. Personal feedback means more to me than any download numbers.

What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
I think it’s wonderful and necessary. I’ve had the privilege to work with amazing women leaders in my career. As a father to a daughter heading to college, I want her to see strong female role models and know leadership is possible for her. Diversity of thought, creativity, and representation in leadership are essential—and women bring immense value to every workplace they’re a part of.

What advice would you give to future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs?
Keep building relationships. Find people who inspire you—even if you never meet them in person, you can learn from their books, podcasts, and online content. Focus on their why, not just the how. Figure out what drives them, then personalize it to fit your own path. And remember, mentors come in many forms—you just have to be open to learning.

“Don’t underestimate the power of one connection, one story, or one moment—these can be the turning points in your journey.”
