Q: Jacqueline, what inspired you to begin your journey into entrepreneurship and leadership?
A: Honestly, it was a mix of everything—aspiration, challenges, and a pivotal life moment. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to speak on stages and write books. But as an adult, I realized there was a disconnect between the life I envisioned and the one I was living. The real turning point came when my son and I were hit by a car just eight days before I was set to step away from my leadership role. That accident forced me into downtime, where I had a divine download that became Embrace Your Awesome. It was about living as the person I was created to be, not the version others expected of me. From there, the work grew—today, I’ve supported thousands worldwide in embracing their authentic power.
Q: What challenges did you face while building your career, and how did you overcome them?
A: My biggest challenge has been managing my energy as an introvert. I often spoke to large groups, and at times I pushed myself so hard that I nearly collapsed after events. Learning to manage my energy, set boundaries, and show up fully without depleting myself was a huge lesson. Another challenge was learning how to treat my passion as a business. At first, I thought, “If you pay me, great. If not, we’ll work something out.” But I quickly realized that to create real impact, I needed systems, metrics, and the mindset of running a business—not just living my passion.
Q: What achievement are you most proud of?
A: Being selected as a White House correspondent is one of my proudest professional milestones—it was a dream I quietly carried. Personally, though, my greatest joy is being a mom. My son is incredible, and watching him grow has been my greatest blessing.
Q: What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
A: It’s been both inspiring and challenging. Over the last decade, we’ve seen more women—especially women of color—rise into leadership roles. Yet, many still face barriers, particularly at the middle management level, where opportunities are often denied or withheld. That’s where my work comes in: helping women self-advocate, create their own opportunities, and embrace leadership on their own terms. On the positive side, many women who face these challenges go on to start their own businesses, bringing fresh, impactful leadership to the table. And we know from research that when women are in leadership, companies thrive—with higher revenues, stronger morale, and long-term growth.
Q: What message would you share with future women leaders and entrepreneurs?
A: Two key things: First, create your own opportunities. Don’t wait for someone to hand them to you. Second, lean into your introversion if that’s who you are. Being selective, intentional, and thoughtful in your interactions is a strength, not a weakness. Use your natural depth and ability to see complexity as an advantage.
Q: Finally, how do you define success—professionally and personally?
A: Professionally, success is twofold: financial expansion and the ripple effect of impact. Money sustains the mission, but what fuels me is hearing how my work impacts not just my clients, but their families, colleagues, and communities. Personally, success is freedom—the ability to use my time and resources as I choose, especially with my son. Being able to travel, speak, and return home without dropping any balls—that balance is my true success.
“Success isn’t just about what you achieve—it’s about how your growth creates ripples that uplift others.” – Jacqueline Shaulis
