Georgina, tell us how your incredible journey began. What led you to where you are today?
I started my professional life as a teacher and quickly moved into leadership, becoming deputy head of a large school by age 28. However, my life changed dramatically after a serious skiing accident that left me wheelchair-bound. Despite that, I went on to lead the school for over 20 years. It taught me the power of helping others take radical responsibility for their own performance — something that continues to define my work today.
How did you transition from education into entrepreneurship?
In 2004, I left education due to health reasons but carried with me years of leadership expertise. I researched leadership development across industries and found the same challenges existed everywhere. This led me to write my first books and start my journey as a coach, mentor, and consultant. Eventually, I launched my second business, ‘Genuinely You,’ online to reach people worldwide.
You’ve worked with so many diverse individuals — who exactly is your target audience?
People often say to niche down, but I work with anyone ready to grow into the best version of themselves — from children as young as eight to adults well into their 80s. Whether it’s individuals, teams, or entire organizations, I love working with those who want to lead with integrity, create a positive legacy, and build success without compromising values.
What positive changes have you seen in the people you work with?
The transformation is remarkable. People gain confidence, resilience, and clarity about their purpose. Their relationships improve, communication strengthens, and emotional well-being deepens. For businesses, it’s about empowering leaders to lead themselves first, which naturally results in stronger teams, better culture, and higher profits — all achieved in a way that uplifts rather than diminishes others.
Have you ever struggled with self-doubt or imposter syndrome in your career?
Absolutely. Becoming a school principal at such a young age, leading while navigating life in a wheelchair, and later starting an online business with no digital presence — all those moments came with self-doubt. But I believe our “comfort zone” is really a familiarity zone that holds us back. Stepping beyond that discomfort is where real growth happens, and I’ve learned to do that over and over again.
Looking back, is there anything you wish you’d done differently when starting out?
Definitely. When I launched ‘Genuinely You,’ I struggled with marketing myself. Promoting others was easy, but promoting my own work felt uncomfortable. Over time, I reframed it — I’m not selling myself; I’m offering people a way to fast-track their growth. That mindset shift made marketing easier, though it’s still not my favorite part!
What does success mean to you — both personally and professionally?
Success, for me, is about seeing people have those “aha” moments where they realize their potential. Professionally, I love public speaking, especially when it’s well-received, and I’d love to travel more, sharing ideas on leadership, well-being, and conscious business. Personally, success is spending time with family and friends, traveling, trying new experiences, and having fun — all while maintaining a balance between work and play.
What exciting projects are you currently working on?
I’m offering a free Spiritual Leadership Blueprint — a tool to help people assess where they are in life and leadership. Anyone can request it by emailing me at gina@genuinely-u.com with “Blueprint” in the subject line. It’s completely free because I believe lack of funds shouldn’t stop anyone from accessing personal growth resources. Those who engage with the Blueprint also get invited to my masterclasses, which run every few months.
“True success starts from within. When you take responsibility for your life, you don’t just change your world — you inspire others to rise with you.”
