Could you elaborate on the nature of your business, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?

By uplifting women in leadership positions, their enhanced function and capacity not only improve their lives but also positively affect those in their families, teams, and communities.

What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and entrepreneur? Were there any specific events, challenges, or people that motivated you to take this path?

I knew that I wanted to be a psychologist from a very early age. In many ways, I think the job chose me rather than the other way around! I am an Old Soul, and people have gravitated to me as a listener and fixer since I was very small. As I matured, I realized that the role of a psychologist would enable me to serve those who would thrive with my skillset. After working in many different milieus, I realized that I enjoyed the entrepreneurial venture of private practice. It gave me the flexibility I needed as a mother and the creative opportunities I desired.

Looking back at the beginning of your career, what were the major challenges you faced when establishing yourself as a leader/coach? How did you overcome those obstacles?

When I first started working as a psychologist, I signed up for all of the provider networks on the insurance panels. I got scads of referrals, but within six months, I was working all the time—and only earning a pittance. After working nearly twenty years in the field, I finally decided that I deserved to earn more—to work smarter, not harder. Unfortunately, marketing a cash-pay private practice is a different beast—one that I wasn’t initially skilled in! It took years to build up word-of-mouth referrals and then referrals that came through digital marketing efforts.

Would you like to share any remarkable achievements?

One of my greatest achievements was surviving a terribly unhealthy marriage—and finally leaving with five kids in tow. I didn’t know how I was going to earn enough to keep the house, feed them, and “do it all.” But I did. What I learned about myself in the process was painful and amazing—and has enabled me to discover very specific ways to help women exit, survive, and thrive after unhealthy circumstances and relationships.

Women are a growing force in workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?

We desperately need women in leadership—now more than ever. When women lead through the Divine Feminine, we are encouraged to work collaboratively rather than competitively. Our solutions are designed to improve the likelihood that everyone can thrive, rather than focusing on “one team winning.” At a time when there is a despot running our country, surely tumbling us towards civil war, it is imperative that we uplift women so that we rise into leadership—NOW.

What message/advice would you have for future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs?

The best advice I can offer is to build a team. So many of us solopreneurs burn out as we try to do it all alone. Even if your team is comprised of Facebook followers, family members, or outsourced professionals, you need to have people to support your efforts.
