What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
My journey has been a challenging one, we moved around a lot while I was growing up which meant I had to experience many new schools, this being a challenge in itself as I never really made many friends or experienced a strong team ethic in sports.
I never really proudly belonged to a school as just as I was settling in we were on the move again. I dealt with starting again over and over. Always being the “New Kid”, new teachers, new students, trying to fit in and make friends. I went to local schools and further away boarding schools, so I really had quite an experience. Not knowing what I wanted to do when I left school I spent some time working on an equine stud farm, I love horses and being outdoors so it was a dream job. I spent many hours in the fields with the horses drawing and dreaming!
My first serious employment was with a bank, in the processing department, capturing data. I didn’t mind this so much, it was consistent work which taught accuracy, stamina and there was a level of competition with colleagues – I love a challenge! They later moved me into investments where I had to train new people as well, I enjoyed the teaching side of it but soon got bored, I definitely was seeking some variety in my life and was offered a job in a small company doing credit control. I excelled at this and it was my goal to always have a substantial amount in the company bank account. After a few years I needed something different and resigned, my boss was having none of that and was willing to let me try sales – so my sales career began.
I loved being on the road, I knew the company and products well, I was given one of the bigger accounts when someone resigned and I thrived with the challenge.
Resilience, adaptability, determination were all part of me, I had learned all of these skills along the way.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
I had an inner desire to make a difference.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
My true aspiration is to empower people with skills, to develop their own inner-trust, self-reliance and resilience. They can then stand in their truth, honor themselves and make a difference.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
Each life that I enhance is an accomplishment for me.
