Olutoyin Williams is a Senior HR Professional with over 15 years of corporate experience in Human Resources. Having recently moved to the UK, she is passionate about personal and professional growth, both for herself and others. Witnessing the challenges faced by established professionals migrating across countries, she felt compelled to create solutions. This led her to offer career development support for migrant professionals, helping them integrate and thrive in new environments. Her work is driven by a commitment to realizing her highest potential and assisting others in doing the same.
Before you became the business titan you are today, enlighten us about the thrilling adventures of your pre-business life.
I worked in Human Resources and grew through the ranks, starting as a junior recruiter in 2008. I have worked across eight industries—Recruitment Agency, Consulting, Retail, FMCG, Legal Professional Services, Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy, and Non-Profit. These experiences have helped me uncover the success factors required to become a top-tier professional and build a successful career.
I feel privileged to have had these experiences. My career choice in Human Resources stemmed from my natural love for people and my desire to support them. As a young girl, I always gravitated toward people, looking for ways to help. This inclination influenced my decision to pursue a field that keeps me connected with people.
Being in Human Resources has given me the vantage point to observe human nature, tendencies, and interactions at work. I have learned that, at a fundamental level, people want the same things—the opportunity to do great work, be part of supportive teams, develop their skills, and achieve meaningful personal goals. When organizations create an environment that supports employees’ potential, it fosters a cycle of high performance, ultimately benefiting corporate profits, social value, and the community.
Could you elaborate on the nature of your initiative/business/current role, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?
My business stems from a need I experienced firsthand. After migrating to the UK with my family two years ago, I saw how difficult it is for established professionals to integrate and thrive in a new environment. I spent over a year researching the available support systems for new immigrants entering the UK labor market. As a result, I embarked on a journey to build a Talent Development company that supports migrants.
Currently, my business offers career coaching in two formats: one-on-one sessions and group settings. My work is complemented by rich video resources on my YouTube channel, my LinkedIn content, and services on my website, including:
- The Career Growth Network Membership – A specialized HR Career Membership designed for Early Career Professionals (0-5 years of experience), providing the necessary tools for career growth and success.
- The Career Growth Network Premium Coaching – A 1:1 career coaching program based on the A.M.L Transformation Framework, designed for individuals targeting Head of Business Unit or Management roles.
What has been the response of the users/consumers towards your venture? (You can also talk about your recognitions/achievements here)
The professionals I have supported report significant career clarity, direction, growth, and fulfillment. They have gained the confidence to manage their careers better, position themselves for new opportunities, and succeed in job interviews.
As a life and career coach, seeing these results brings me immense fulfillment. Helping professionals overcome their doubts and chart their career paths with confidence is deeply rewarding.
Having a strong support system is essential for your well-being. Who has been your biggest supporter?
Family has always been my biggest supporter. They have a front-row seat to my journey and evolution. The unwavering support from my husband, children, siblings, and close friends has been invaluable—from offering kind advice to simply listening, providing financial support, or reminding me of my resilience and tenacity. Their belief in me has kept me going, especially during challenging times when I felt like giving up. That kind of support is truly priceless.
As a woman entrepreneur, what changes do you hope to see in the world, and what opportunities are you seeking?
I have observed a growing institutional commitment—both in the private and public sectors—to creating a more enabling environment for female entrepreneurs. This is heartwarming and encouraging.
At this stage in my business, my focus is on sharing my knowledge and experience with as many people as possible. I seek speaking opportunities—panel discussions, guest speaking engagements, podcast appearances—and collaborations with forward-thinking organizations that support professionals in their networks. Interviews like this with Humans of Fuzia are precisely the kind of impactful conversations I value.
Women now stand shoulder-to-shoulder with men in the workplace, breaking through glass ceilings. What are your thoughts on women’s leadership today?
Women have made incredible strides in the corporate world, which is commendable. However, I believe the ongoing narrative that compares women and men in leadership is flawed. Women and men are inherently different—comparing them is like comparing apples to pears. The most successful female leaders understand this and embrace their unique strengths, shaping their leadership style accordingly.
Female leadership is often transformational, participative, and democratic. A prime example is Indra Nooyi, a leader I greatly admire. Her leadership approach focuses on empowering her team, expanding their skill sets, and maintaining high standards. She embodies transformational leadership, which I believe is a hallmark of great female leaders.
