Elizabeth Meigs is living proof that even life’s darkest moments can be transformed into a powerful mission of hope. At just 14, she survived a near-fatal car accident that left her battling a traumatic brain injury, immense physical challenges, and emotional isolation. But instead of letting tragedy define her, Elizabeth rose to become a speaker, coach, and beacon of resilience. Through her work, she helps people reclaim their inner strength, rediscover purpose, and tap into what she calls the “miracle power” within. Humans of Fuzia is proud to feature Elizabeth’s journey as part of our global community of over 5 million individuals working together to uplift, empower, and inspire—because at Fuzia, we believe in He for She, She for She, and standing together for transformation.
What inspired you to become a coach and speaker?
It was both an event—and a deep calling from the heart. At 14, I was severely injured in a car accident that left me fighting for my life. I spent three weeks in a coma, had to relearn everything, and faced overwhelming judgment, rejection, and loneliness. I lost friends, my identity, and nearly lost hope. I even told my parents I wished I had died. But in my darkest moment, I cried out to God, asking, “Why me?” That’s when I felt an overwhelming sense of peace, love, and purpose. God told me, “I have a plan for you.” I didn’t know what it looked like, but I knew I had to keep going—not just for myself, but to one day be for others what I so desperately needed in that moment.
What helped you stay strong during such overwhelming challenges?
My faith. God’s presence was the only thing that filled the emptiness inside me after my accident. Even though life didn’t get easier, I kept walking forward with that sense of divine purpose. I graduated high school with my class, then pursued occupational therapy. Years later, when I walked into my first patient’s room—a stroke survivor—everything clicked. I realized sharing my story and encouraging others was exactly what I was called to do.
How did your journey evolve into creating ‘Elizabeth Inspires’?
After years of working as an occupational therapist and coaching in holistic wellness, I found myself trapped in a toxic marriage—belittled, manipulated, and told my dreams would never come true. But God had been preparing me all along. The same strategies I used to recover from my accident helped me survive that marriage. Within four days of turning to God in prayer, He made a way for me to leave, rebuild my life, and launch Elizabeth Inspires. I realized I had been teaching resilience and healing for years—I just hadn’t formalized it until then.
Tell us more about your ‘Roadmap to Resilience’ and ‘Pathway to Peace.’
These are the pillars of my coaching. My Roadmap to Resilience starts with Rise—the courage to keep going. Then Reframe—shifting your perspective from “why me” to “how can this help others?” Reflect—looking back to see how every challenge shaped you. Rediscover—becoming the person you were meant to be. And Reconnect—aligning with people and opportunities that help you fulfill your purpose.
My Pathway to Peace is all about tapping into the inner spirit of resilience—the Holy Spirit within us. That’s how we reclaim our power, pursue our purpose, and experience true healing, peace, and fulfillment.
What is one short-term goal you’re focused on right now?
By the end of this year, I want to have at least 25 speaking engagements—both virtually and in-person—and enroll my first five clients in the Miracle Power Empowerment Coaching program. I’ve already been helping women on an as-needed basis, but this structured 90-day journey will help them reclaim their power, find their purpose, and experience the peace and freedom they deserve.
“We all have miracle power living inside of us. You just need the willingness to rise, the clarity to keep going, and the belief that your dreams were placed on your heart for a reason.”
