Barbara Zinda on Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Coaching, Women Empowerment, Growth Systems and Social Impact

Barbara Zinda

What if business growth isn’t about doing more—but creating enough space to do what matters most?

For Barbara Zinda, founder of Better Together Coaching, that question has shaped a remarkable transition from nearly three decades in corporate leadership and sales to entrepreneurship, psychology, and transformational coaching. Her story offers a powerful lesson for today’s coaches, entrepreneurs, and women in leadership: sustainable growth requires both ambition and margin.

At Humans of Fuzia, a global thought-leadership platform at the intersection of leadership, entrepreneurship, coaching, women empowerment, and socially conscious business, stories like Barbara’s reveal what it really takes to build a meaningful business. HOF understands the realities coaches and small-business entrepreneurs face—from finding clients and clarifying messaging to managing systems, capacity, and growth.

From Corporate Leadership to Purpose-Driven Coaching

Barbara’s entrepreneurial journey began with a dream she had in her 20s, when she encountered a life coach while building a sales culture at a bank. But corporate stability, including raising two sons as a single mother, kept that dream on hold.

A defining moment came through a final conversation with her father, a psychology professor, after Barbara returned to school to study psychology.

“That conversation somehow opened up for me the possibility to be more than a corporate employee or just a student or just a coach or just a leader.”

That shift became an identity transformation. Barbara spent her first year finding her lane, understanding who she could serve, and developing her voice.

The 2026 Challenge: Growth Without Losing Yourself

Barbara’s experience reflects a broader challenge facing entrepreneurs in 2026: growth often creates complexity faster than systems can handle it.

After leaving corporate America, she suddenly had to navigate everything herself—from websites and SEO to video editing and business systems. Her answer wasn’t simply to work harder. It was to discover a workflow that worked for her and selectively bring in support.

For coaches scaling their businesses, that means clarifying the Ideal Client Profile, strengthening messaging, building repeatable client-acquisition systems, developing sales funnels, and using speaking and community opportunities to build authority.

Leadership, Capacity and the Power of Margin

Barbara’s most distinctive growth philosophy may be her approach to time.

She deliberately created “Freedom Friday,” reserving Fridays for activities such as pickleball. Her reasoning is simple: not every business problem requires an immediate response.

“Having margin in my day and in my week allows me to show up better for my clients, for my family, for my community.”

This is more than work-life balance. It is a leadership strategy. Sustainable execution depends on protecting the capacity required to make good decisions, coach effectively, develop relationships, and lead with clarity.

Execution Tip

Create one protected block of non-work time this week—and treat it like a business commitment. Use the space to recharge rather than catch up. Then return to your highest-value work with renewed capacity.

Barbara’s journey demonstrates that entrepreneurship doesn’t have to mean endless hours. Leadership development, scalable growth systems, clear positioning, and purposeful boundaries can create a business that supports the life behind it.

Humans of Fuzia continues to spotlight these real-world lessons, helping entrepreneurs, coaches, and leaders learn not only how to grow—but how to grow with purpose.
