What if the technology designed to make work easier could also teach us something deeper about being human?
For Gabriel Powell, that question became personal. An entrepreneur, Integral Master Coach, AI consultant, and founder of AI Coaching Mastery, Powell’s journey from technology and publishing automation to human development—and eventually back to AI—reveals a powerful leadership lesson: AI is most valuable when it amplifies human wisdom rather than replacing it.
As a global thought-leadership platform at the intersection of leadership, entrepreneurship, coaching, women empowerment, and socially conscious business, Humans of Fuzia understands the realities coaches and small-business entrepreneurs face as they build and scale. Powell’s story offers a particularly timely perspective for 2026, when business growth increasingly depends on combining human capability with intelligent systems.
From Technology Expert to Leadership Coach
Powell began his entrepreneurial journey in his twenties as a graphic designer before moving into Adobe technologies, automation, and publishing systems. For nearly a decade, he helped major organizations—including the World Health Organization and International Federation of the Red Cross—build systems for distributing information globally.
But after more than two decades in technology, he chose a different path: human development.
For the past decade, Powell has immersed himself in coaching, adult development, vertical development, and Integral Theory. His work now supports coaches, learning-and-development professionals, and facilitators around the world.
Then came an unexpected turning point.
When AI Became a Tool for Human Resilience
In 2024, Powell experienced a severe neurological disorder that left him unable to walk, speak normally, or use a keyboard. During seven weeks in hospital without a clear diagnosis, he turned to ChatGPT.
Its response helped him find information that ultimately led to a specialist diagnosis.
As he recovered, Powell began using AI through voice dictation, eventually developing systems that allowed him to return to coaching—and become more productive than before.
That experience changed his understanding of AI.
“AI is a means to a human end and a planetary end, one that brings humans and planet together.”
Today, Powell is building an AI operating system designed specifically for coaches. It brings business information, branding, marketing workflows, proposals, content creation, and client systems together while emphasizing privacy, consent, and authenticity.
Growth Systems for Coaches and Entrepreneurs
For independent coaches, the challenge in 2026 is rarely just expertise. It is building the systems around that expertise: clear messaging, an ideal client profile, client acquisition, delegation, marketing, and scalable execution.
Powell’s approach is to use AI for the repetitive and technical work while allowing coaches to remain focused on creativity, relationships, leadership development, and client transformation.
His philosophy is simple: technology should sound like the person using it—not like a machine.
Execution Tip
Identify one repetitive business task you perform every week and build an AI-assisted workflow around it. Start small, document the process, and protect client confidentiality through clear consent before introducing AI into client work.
