Q: Amy, what inspired you to step into entrepreneurship and start building businesses like Elite Audiology Resources and DB Coaching Group?
A: I’ve always enjoyed creating a vision and finding new ways of doing things. For me, the easiest way to create an experience and a culture I wanted to be a part of was to build it from the ground up. I wanted people to be treated in a certain way, and I wanted the team atmosphere to feel supportive and empowering. Yes, it can be scary to start something new, but it’s also exciting and fulfilling to create and grow something meaningful.

Q: Who do you primarily work with at DB Coaching Group?
A: We primarily work with people in healthcare—since both my business partner and I have a background as healthcare providers. Most of our clients are women in healthcare, which makes the work very personal and close to our hearts.

Q: What kind of benefits do your clients experience when working with you?
A: One of the biggest benefits is that we truly understand the healthcare industry. We know what it feels like to be in their shoes—whether as providers, business owners, or leaders. That makes it easier for our clients to connect with us without having to explain every detail of their challenges. This shared understanding helps us guide them more effectively.

Q: Have you ever dealt with imposter syndrome, and how do you advise others to overcome it?
A: Absolutely. Self-doubts are normal when you’re pushing yourself and trying to grow. What helps me is sticking to the facts: I know what I’m doing, I’ve been in my clients’ shoes, and I have the skills. Self-talk is also so important. I remind myself—and my clients—that we should say, “I’m proud of you” more often. Even saying it to ourselves helps quiet that inner gremlin of doubt.

Q: Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently as an entrepreneur?
A: I would have hired a coach right away. Having a coach early on in my journey would have been so valuable in terms of guidance and clarity.

Q: How do you personally define success?
A: Professionally, success for me is about building a coaching group that expands its reach and supports more of the healthcare industry. Personally, it’s about ensuring that I continue to grow while also feeling fulfilled in the work I do.

Q: What legacy do you hope to leave behind through your work?
A: More than a physical legacy, I want to leave a culture of inclusion, support, and growth. I want people—whether clients or colleagues—to remember me for creating an environment where they felt supported and valued.

Q: What challenges do you see most often among your clients?
A: One of the biggest challenges is time. Healthcare professionals, especially women, are balancing full patient loads with the mental and emotional responsibilities of their home lives. Making time for themselves and their personal growth is a big hurdle.

Q: What exciting projects are you currently working on?
A: We’re launching leadership development training modules. One is designed for owners and managers, while another focuses on professionals who are asked to onboard new colleagues. These trainings will help them communicate effectively, gain buy-in, and foster accountability—skills that make a huge difference in team dynamics.

Q: Finally, what message would you like to share with our community of women entrepreneurs?
A: Find something that inspires you and continue to motivate yourself. Each year, I choose a quote that I keep on my phone as a daily reminder. This year it’s, “What change am I making in my own life?” Whether it’s through sticky notes, affirmations, or quotes, keep inspiring yourself so that you don’t lose your own growth in the entrepreneurial adventure.
