If your business could have a mascot, what would it be and why?
A bee: I am a hard worker, industrious—and a cross-pollinator. I like to create a buzz around innovation!
What strategies do you employ to maintain a healthy work-life balance while running your own business?
I chose to pursue something I am extremely passionate about! I think it’s very important to love how you spend your time so that it doesn’t feel like a chore. Wake up excited to face the day!
When faced with unexpected detours on your business path, how do you pivot with grace and resilience, showing fellow women entrepreneurs the way forward?
I know nothing except unexpected detours and pivots. Rid yourself of expectations, and you become a free explorer. We are in a volatile world where adaptability is the true measure of where we land. Seek where you want to go, where you want to explore, and all you will see is opportunities.
How do you measure the success of your business beyond financial metrics, such as customer satisfaction or community engagement?
Happiness and meaning. I have too many years of experience in observing false results come in and out-of-touch leaders who love the groupie mentality. I have no interest in that. I seek impact. If I don’t believe the numbers I’m looking at, I will keep digging. Question everything!
Can you share a memorable moment where you witnessed significant growth or transformation in your business, illustrating the impact of your services/products?
I am in constant change; evolution is what we do. My services/products haven’t felt tangible to the public as I haven’t technically taken anyone’s money. I ask for investment in time, information, and support. I knew in this pivotal era that we’re in, it was extremely important that as a behavioral observationist, I paid attention to how humans will self-organize around the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the political environment we’re adapting to. Recently, I began teaching self-organizing systems scaling and I would like to help ethical leaders adapt their business models for sustainability.
What role do you believe mentorship plays in the success of small businesses, and how have mentors influenced your own entrepreneurial journey?
Mentorship is extremely important. I have put my heart into pouring into almost anyone who is open to receiving and would like my help. I am driven by the lack of mentors, help, and/or guides that were offered to me in business. I always have been. I want more for others. I believe the world becomes a better place when we all make that a choice. I have found a few leaders who inspire me now, and I hold onto them.
What’s your work all about, and how does it make a difference in the world?
My work is about leading with integrity, kindness, and a solution-minded focus. I believe that is truly the only way we achieve our goals consistently, and the more momentum we gain, the more innovation we can spark. I firmly believe that as we raise the bar for ourselves and each other, we elevate society and become better together. My work is intended to create systems that are effective and efficient so that we create more win-win situations in both life and business because it begins to blend for all of us. This spreads, and I hope to help create more than a ripple impact—I hope to create waves.
