Featured in Humans of Fuzia, Tatyana’s story resonates deeply with our global community of 5M+ changemakers, reminding us that transformation begins with owning our narrative.
Q: Could you share what inspired you to start Coaching Expatriates and the work you do today?
Tatyana: Coaching Expatriates provides coaching, leadership training, and workshops to prepare executives for leading in multicultural environments. Many leaders face challenges when managing teams abroad—different cultures, different communication styles—and I wanted to help them navigate these complexities more effectively. My own experiences taught me the importance of creating strong narratives, so I began helping leaders use storytelling as a tool to engage diverse teams and communicate more powerfully.
Q: What role does HR consulting play in your work?
Tatyana: HR consulting is another branch of my company. We focus on strategy—helping organizations with change management, policy implementation, and cultural improvements. Storytelling is at the center of this work because it engages talent in a way that policies alone cannot. Stories humanize leadership, making it easier to connect and inspire teams.
Q: As a woman in leadership, what challenges have you faced and how have they shaped your mission?
Tatyana: Starting in finance was tough—it was a male-dominated world where women rarely had space to lead authentically. I spent years trying to fit into that mold, until I realized the real struggle was not owning my own narrative. This realization drove me to help others, especially women, build their inner stories. When women understand and own their narratives, they can communicate with confidence, gain visibility, and truly empower themselves.
Q: What are your short-term and long-term goals?
Tatyana: My immediate goal is the release of my book Mastering Business Storytelling on June 24, which dives deep into how storytelling can reshape leadership. I’m also launching the third season of my podcast, The Leadership Nest, which features real-life case studies of how storytelling has transformed careers and lives. Both projects are very close to my heart and align with my mission of inspiring leaders globally.
Q: How do you view women’s empowerment and leadership development in today’s world?
Tatyana: In entrepreneurship, women often feel freer to lead because they aren’t constrained by traditional corporate structures. But they usually have fewer resources to grow their businesses. In the corporate world, the opposite is true—resources are plenty, but visibility is limited. True empowerment comes from within. Whether as an entrepreneur or corporate leader, women must own their responsibility to seek visibility and growth. And as coaches, we must provide them with the tools and mindset to thrive.
“Think about the story you’re telling yourself right now—about your growth and your potential. That inner story is shaping your reality. Align it with your goals, and you’ll create the future you envision.” — Tatyana Fittipaldi
