Tara Nolan: Turning grief into a life that truly matters

Tara Nolan

Introduction
In moments of deep loss, some people find themselves asking life’s biggest questions — and for Tara Nolan, that question became a turning point. After experiencing the sudden passing of someone close to her, Tara was confronted with the fragility of life and the urgency to live with intention. Today, her journey serves as a powerful reminder to our 5M+ global community that purpose can rise from pain — and that stepping into leadership with empathy and authenticity can reshape not only our own lives, but the world around us.

Q&A

What inspired you to start your journey? Was there a person, a moment, or a challenge that pushed you forward?
It was a challenge. I had someone close to me pass away in a motorcycle accident — a sudden death. I was struck not only by the grieving and the loss of my friend, but also by the reality of mortality. It made me recognize that life is short, and I wanted to truly make my life matter in those moments.

What were some of the challenges you faced while establishing your business, and how did you tackle them?
There is always a challenge with growth, and this business requires constant growth to create the success I’ve been looking for. I tackled that by hiring people and facing the truth that I can’t do everything myself or have control over everything. Each person I hire is not a cost or an expense — they’re an investment with a return.

How has your client base evolved over time?
The number of clients grew when I had other people doing the one-on-one coaching calls for me, and I became more of the CEO, running group calls. However, I’ve shifted again to doing more coaching myself because it fulfills me deeply. I want to stay aligned with my truth and make the biggest difference for my clients.

What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
Women need to be in leadership more than ever. Women have a different way of thinking and a different approach to the world. I have a lot of love and respect for men, but right now, the world needs more yin — more femininity and emotional understanding. As women step up as leaders, we make an example of what’s possible for our daughters and granddaughters, and we bring love, empathy, and understanding into the larger decisions being made at the top.

Closing Thought
“As women step into leadership, we lead with love, empathy, and understanding — and that’s exactly what the world needs right now.”
