Scott Gingold: Guiding Leaders with Wisdom, Experience, and Heart

Scott Gingold

Scott Gingold describes himself as a “business troubleshooter and fixer” — someone leaders turn to when they need confidential, judgment-free guidance. With decades of experience spanning entrepreneurship, nonprofit service, coaching, and corporate leadership, he now focuses on helping family businesses and C-level executives navigate challenges with empathy and lived wisdom. His story is one of resilience, adaptability, and a mission to create a lasting legacy of impact, making him an inspiring voice for the Humans of Fuzia community.

Q: How would you describe yourself and the work you do?
Scott: I’m a business troubleshooter and fixer, primarily working with family-owned businesses and C-level leaders who need a confidential counselor. I don’t judge anyone — instead, I help them find clarity and get back on track both personally and professionally. What sets me apart is that I’ve lived these experiences myself. My insights don’t come from textbooks but from decades of successes and failures that I’ve learned from and never repeated.

Q: Can you tell us about your professional journey and how Gingold Advisors came to life?
Scott: My career began as a first responder in EMS, but after some life-threatening experiences, I transitioned into corporate America. Later, my wife and I built and exited seven different businesses across industries like IT, cybersecurity, and market research. Along the way, I served with over 70 nonprofits, coached Division I soccer, and hosted a nationally syndicated business radio show. Eventually, I launched Gingold Advisors, where I now work one-on-one with family businesses and executives worldwide, offering personalized support rooted in real-life experience.

Q: How do clients usually find you?
Scott: My business has always grown through referrals and personal networking. I believe in face-to-face connections — whether it’s coffee, lunch, or a simple handshake. While I’ve started using LinkedIn intentionally in recent months, my approach is like being a politician “in the good way” — building genuine relationships and understanding people’s needs.

Q: What challenges have you faced as a solopreneur?
Scott: Transitioning from leading large teams to working solo was tough. Suddenly, I had to handle technical tasks I never dealt with before. Learning how to use LinkedIn effectively and navigating unsuccessful experiences with support staff were challenges too. But I believe in constant learning and adapting, no matter where you are in life.

Q: What are your current goals and focus?
Scott: My focus is on sharing a lifetime of lessons — both wins and mistakes — to help others. Legacy, mission, and purpose drive me today. I want my granddaughter, when she’s older, to look back and see that her grandpa tried to help as many people as he could, whether through work, writing, or mentorship.

Q: What advice would you give to entrepreneurs and professionals struggling right now?
Scott: No matter how dark the day may seem, the sun will come out tomorrow. I’ve experienced both success and failure, and I know that struggles don’t last forever. Surround yourself with trusted friends or a network who will support you without judgment. And if you don’t have anyone else, reach out — even to me. No one should struggle alone.

“As long as the sun rises tomorrow, there is hope, a fresh opportunity, and a way forward. You don’t have to do it alone.” – Scott Gingold
