Sana Khammash: Guiding Leaders to Empower Themselves and Others

Sana Khammash

Meet Sana Khammash, a leadership coach, consultant, and facilitator who has dedicated her career to helping people step into their true potential. After more than 16 years of thriving in the corporate world, Sana trusted her intuition and followed her calling to create a greater impact—supporting individuals and organizations in transformation. Her journey is one of courage, resilience, and self-belief, and it inspires millions of women in the Humans of Fuzia community to embrace their unique strengths and redefine empowerment on their own terms.

Q: What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and consultant?
Sana: I’ve always been inspired by people—what they do, how they lead, and the lessons they offer. But my biggest inspiration came from within. I trusted my intuition at every turning point. Even back in university, despite pressure to pursue engineering, I chose accounting because it felt right. Later, when I realized finance wasn’t where I thrived, I shifted into HR, where connecting with people and making an impact became my strength. Eventually, I felt called to do even more—beyond the corporate world—so I transitioned into coaching and consultancy. It was about listening to my inner voice and taking bold steps toward what felt authentic.

Q: What challenges did you face while stepping away from the corporate world?
Sana: The first challenge was explaining my decision to others. On paper, I had everything—a senior position, stability, great leadership, and good pay. People couldn’t understand why I’d leave that behind. The second challenge was shifting from the security of a corporate salary to building my own business. As an entrepreneur, I had to learn business development, proposals, and client acquisition—while also delivering my work. It was demanding, but I embraced it as an exciting learning curve.

Q: What has been one of your proudest milestones so far?
Sana: One of my proudest moments was leading a cultural transformation project for a company. Seeing the measurable results, the positive feedback, and the visible impact on employees was incredibly fulfilling. It proved to me that real change is possible when people are empowered.

Q: What are your thoughts on women in leadership and empowerment today?
Sana: There’s often confusion between equality and equity. True empowerment isn’t about women copying men—it’s about honoring their own strengths and leading authentically. Too many women hold limiting beliefs about their capabilities, which holds them back. That’s why I created Tamakani, a program that helps women shift their mindset, release self-doubt, and embrace their feminine power. At the same time, empowerment must be holistic—it requires supportive men and organizations that welcome women’s leadership. My male allies have been key to successful initiatives, proving that empowerment is not just a women’s issue, but a collective responsibility.

Q: What message would you share with aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
Sana: Know your value, embrace your strengths, and don’t shy away from your feminine energy—it’s a source of power. Surround yourself with the right people and allies, male or female. Being strong doesn’t mean you must always be independent—it’s okay to ask for and accept support. Most importantly, enjoy the journey. Entrepreneurship is full of lessons, and success lies in how much you grow along the way.

Q: How do you define success?
Sana: Success is personal—it’s not about comparing yourself with others. It’s about progress: being one step further today than you were yesterday. It’s about aligning with your personal vision, learning continuously, and living authentically.

“Success is not measured by titles or comparisons—it’s about the growth you achieve on your own journey.” – Sana Khammash
