Tell us a little about yourself and your journey so far.
I was born and raised in the Netherlands. My academic background is quite international—I studied graphic design and international business, and I had the chance to do exchange programs and internships in Mexico and China. Over the years, I worked across various sectors, including healthcare, innovation, and entrepreneurship, traveling to more than 40 countries. During my sabbatical, I brought together my passion for entrepreneurship and social impact, which led to the creation of my concept: Sustainable Happiness for All and the Happiness Model.
What is your business about and who is your target audience?
The Happiness Model is designed to help leaders create workplaces, organizations, and even cities where happiness becomes the foundation. While there are many self-help tools out there, I believe the biggest impact comes when leadership actively builds cultures of happiness. I conduct workshops, keynote talks, and coaching—both in-person and virtual—to empower individuals to lead happier lives, whether as organizational leaders or in their personal journeys.
How do people usually find you and your work?
LinkedIn has been my primary platform. My background is largely in social entrepreneurship and international expansion, so many people know me through those circles. Recently, I’ve been working to bridge the gap between business development and happiness, showing organizations that success and well-being can, and should, go hand in hand.
What challenges have you faced as an entrepreneur?
Finding the right people has always been one of the biggest challenges. It’s easy to find people looking for jobs, but finding the right people and ensuring they are in roles that align with their true aspirations is a different story. Building strong team dynamics, coaching individuals, and helping them grow has been both the most challenging and the most rewarding part of my entrepreneurial journey.
What are your major plans or goals for 2025?
I’m focused on expanding the Happiness Model further. We organized the first World of Happiness event this year, bringing together bright minds to explore how we can build a world where everyone can be happy. The next edition is happening in 2025, along with more international workshops, speaking engagements, and collaborations aimed at embedding happiness into leadership and organizational culture.
Any message you’d like to share with our audience?
Happiness should be the norm, not the exception. Everyone can—and should—become a happiness leader, both for themselves and for others.
