Naimah Abdullah: Empowering Muslim Women to Rise Above Barriers and Lead with Purpose

Naimah Abdullah

Meet Coach Naimah Abdullah, a passionate life and business coach dedicated to empowering Muslim women and women of color to overcome mental and emotional barriers, embrace their purpose, and elevate both their personal and professional lives. Through her platform, The Lady Khadijah Institute, she inspires women to lead with faith, courage, and confidence—while creating lasting legacies of impact and independence.
At Humans of Fuzia, we are proud to feature Naimah’s inspiring story as part of our global mission to spotlight changemakers who embody the spirit of empowerment and equality. Her journey resonates deeply with our 5M+ community that believes in He for She and She for She—because when women rise, communities flourish.

Q: Naimah, could you tell us a bit about yourself and what inspired your journey as a coach?
A: I’m affectionately known as Coach Naimah, and I empower Muslim women and women of color to overcome their mental and emotional barriers, identify self-sabotaging behaviors, and use business strategies to elevate their lives and careers. I’ve been a teacher and mentor in some form most of my life, but in the past few years, I decided to focus on helping women in business because I saw how many were struggling to express their ideas and take up space confidently. I want to help thousands of women embrace their power, create wealth, and feel safe and fulfilled while contributing meaningfully to their families and communities.

Q: What inspired you to name your initiative “The Lady Khadijah Institute”?
A: Lady Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) represents everything society often tells women not to be—strong, wealthy, independent, charitable, and visionary. She was a widower, a businesswoman, a single mother, and an heiress who used her wealth for good. Her life is a perfect example of empowerment rooted in faith. The name “Khadijah,” meaning premature, symbolizes being ahead of one’s time. Through my institute, I aim to help women embody those same values—strength, resilience, and generosity.

Q: Who do you primarily work with, and what is your goal for them?
A: My target audience is women between 18 and 60—because empowerment has no age limit. Whether they’re just starting out or rediscovering their purpose later in life, my goal is to help them lay a foundation for their dreams, build legacies, and live life on their own terms. Entrepreneurship is not just about money; it’s about creating a lasting impact that uplifts future generations.

Q: You mentioned having podcasts like “Rock the Crown” and an upcoming one titled “Unveiled.” Tell us more about them.
A: Rock the Crown began as a social experiment with four of my friends—we discussed family, politics, religion, travel, and more, all while embracing sisterhood and authenticity. After several seasons, we’re now preparing to relaunch. I’m also launching a new podcast, Unveiled: Real Women, Real Talk, under The Lady Khadijah Institute. It’s a space for women to share real stories, lessons, and truths—without filters.

Q: What is your philosophy when it comes to achieving success?
A: I call it The Doing Method. It has three steps: Decide, Plan, and Act.

  1. Decide what you want—be clear about your vision.
  2. Plan how you’ll get there—write it down.
  3. Act on it—don’t wait for the perfect time.
Writing things down is powerful. When you write your goals, you make a conscious commitment to them. And even if plans change, keep your destination in mind—pivot, but never stop moving forward.

Q: You’ve also spoken about incorporating AI in your work. How do you see technology supporting women entrepreneurs?
A: I believe AI can be a great equalizer for women in business. In my coaching programs, I teach women to use AI to save time, structure their businesses, and identify their core values. For instance, they use it to create SOPs, analyze ideas, and recognize their mindset patterns. It’s not about replacing human creativity—it’s about freeing up time for what truly matters: growth, connection, and impact.

Q: What achievements from this year are you most proud of?
A: Networking and expanding my reach have been major highlights. I’ve also been laying a strong foundation for future projects, including the Elevated Muslima Conference 2026, which will celebrate women who are excelling in various fields. For me, success isn’t just about numbers—it’s about seeing women elevate their mindset and realize that wealth, purpose, and faith can coexist beautifully.

Q: Finally, what message would you like to share with aspiring women entrepreneurs?
A: Don’t wait for permission to start living your purpose. Write down your vision, plan your journey, and take action—no matter how small the steps. The more you move, the more momentum you build. Remember, when women elevate themselves, they elevate the entire community.
