Megan, can you tell us a little about yourself and the work you do?
I’m a wealth strategist, coach, and consultant, and I’ve been in the wellness industry for about 15 years. I primarily support founders and entrepreneurs—largely women, though I also work with some incredible men—helping them prioritize their wellbeing so they can sustainably and impactfully show up in their work.
I work a lot with women in the tech startup space and leaders who are actively building the future. I’m deeply passionate about ensuring that these leaders have the strategy, support, and accountability needed to optimize their wellbeing across all aspects of life.
Do you work with clients locally, or is your work more global?
My work is largely global and primarily online. I recently relocated back to Canada after living in Mexico for 15 years, and my current client base is mostly in North America. That said, over the years I’ve worked with clients from Europe, Australia, and other regions as well.
I recently launched a new venture with a co-founder called AltaVita, which focuses on medical wellness tourism experiences. At the moment, we curate travel experiences between North America and Mexico, with plans to expand into other parts of Latin America in the future.
Tell us more about AltaVita and what makes it unique.
AltaVita sits at the intersection of advanced medical diagnostic testing, preventative and proactive health, lifestyle and wellness coaching, and immersive travel. We truly believe in the power of travel to heal, reset, and help people reevaluate their lives in a meaningful way.
This project also reflects my personal journey—bridging the wisdom and experience I gained living in Mexico with my roots in Canada.
How do people usually find you and connect with your work?
Most people find me on LinkedIn under my name and on Instagram, where I spend a lot of time sharing content around wellness, leadership, and entrepreneurship. I love how Instagram, when curated intentionally, can be empowering and uplifting—especially for women in business.
I also host a podcast called Wellness as a Way of Life for Women Building the Future, and we recently launched a new podcast for AltaVita called The Preventative Traveler Podcast.
You’re managing multiple ventures. What do you find most challenging about being an entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone—it’s a very condensed journey of personal growth, self-awareness, and self-development. If you’re not prepared for that, burnout can happen quickly.
For me, the foundation is taking care of myself—strategic nutrition, intentional movement, optimized sleep and rest, and stress management. These practices allow me to show up fully not just as a business owner, but also as a mother, a wife, and an active community member.
Mindset is another essential piece. No matter how experienced or successful you become, self-doubt and emotional pressure are part of the journey—especially when everything ultimately falls on you as a CEO. You have to intentionally nurture your confidence, vision, and ambition, and surround yourself with a strong community of fellow entrepreneurs who truly understand the challenges.
What goals are you working towards for the rest of 2025?
One of our biggest goals is to sell out the first two AltaVita retreats happening in October and November. One retreat is designed for women over 35 who are navigating perimenopause or menopause, and the other is for health-conscious couples who want to better understand their health through scientific data and precision wellness strategies.
On a personal level, I’m also focused on feeling more settled back in Canada and fully embracing life in my home country after many years abroad.
