Q: Maria, can you take us back to where your journey began?
I’m originally from Egypt, and I’m a pharmacist by training. I completed my Bachelor of Pharmacy and Biotechnology in 2009, then moved to the UK where I advanced into clinical and prescribing roles. I was one of the first pharmacist prescribers in the UK back in 2015, working closely with elderly mental health, dementia, and Alzheimer’s patients.
Q: What led you to shift from clinical medicine to holistic healing?
While working in mental health, I had a deep awakening. I realised that much of the suffering I was seeing could be prevented. People were surviving for years without truly living. At the same time, I was navigating motherhood, career, and personal life — which pushed me to question how we really care for ourselves. That’s when I began exploring the psyche, ancient healing systems, and holistic perspectives, especially rooted in my Egyptian heritage.
Q: How did your Egyptian roots influence your work today?
Ancient Egypt held profound wisdom around healing the human being as a whole — mind, body, and spirit. I immersed myself in understanding how healing temples, known as Houses of Life, worked. That knowledge changed everything for me. It showed me that healing isn’t about suppressing symptoms, but about restoring inner balance and awareness.
Q: Tell us about Vive (House of Life). What is its vision?
Vive House of Life was born from this vision. I founded it to resurrect the ancient Egyptian healing temples in a modern context. We integrate clinical knowledge with holistic modalities like breathwork, sound healing, nutrition therapy, IV therapies, plant medicine, and nervous system regulation. The focus is preventative medicine — helping people heal from the inside out rather than relying solely on medication.
Q: You’re also pursuing an MBA. How does that align with your mission?
I’m currently completing my Master’s in International Business because my vision is global. I want House of Life to expand across countries — starting with England, Miami, Egypt, and Dubai. The MBA helps me build a sustainable ecosystem where healers, leaders, and practitioners can collaborate and scale this movement worldwide.
Q: You work closely with leaders and founders. What makes your approach unique?
Time is a leader’s most valuable currency. That’s why my coaching is intensive and short — three, five, or seven days. I work deeply with the nervous system, emotional regulation, energy, and intuition. These experiences can be online or through private retreats. Alignment happens fast when you work at the energetic level.
Q: What challenges have shaped you most as an entrepreneur?
Leadership tests your character every day. Managing diverse teams while staying compassionate yet professional is challenging. I’ve also had to rewire my nervous system to hold responsibility, growth, and abundance. Another lesson was learning that it’s okay to pivot — to change direction, release what no longer fits, and trust yourself through uncertainty.
Q: Giving back seems central to your work. Why is that important to you?
A business without a cause has no soul. We give back through charitable work in Egypt supporting refugees and displaced communities, and through environmental initiatives in the UK. Wealth is currency — it must flow back into the community. That’s how movements are built, not just companies.
