What inspired you to begin this journey of coaching and leadership work?
In my 20s, I was living in Papua New Guinea, and I often found myself being the confidant for people who were incredibly capable yet trapped in destructive patterns of thinking and behavior. I wanted to help them but realized my toolkit was limited. That’s when I returned to university to study psychology, and later trained as a coach. Over the past 25 years, my path has been non-linear, but the core purpose has stayed the same—helping people unlock their potential and re-script the negative beliefs holding them back.
What challenges did you face while establishing yourself, especially in marketing your work?
One of the biggest challenges is standing out in a crowded space. Many people want to help others, but what matters is finding what’s authentic to you—what you’re genuinely credible in—and where that overlaps with what others truly value. For me, it’s been about embracing my own journey, challenges, love for travel, speaking, and connecting across cultures. Being true to yourself while staying focused on how your work serves others is key.
Do you work alone, or do you have a team supporting you?
I do have a team. I have support with scheduling, marketing, graphics, presentations, website management, client information, and social media. Having the right people around me allows me to focus on what I do best.
What has been one of your proudest milestones so far?
There have been many, but launching my very first book stands out. I wrote it while raising four children under the age of seven. I’ve since written six books, but that first one felt especially profound. Other milestones include speaking to audiences of thousands, delivering my first TEDx talk, and speaking on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
Women in leadership are needed more than ever. The strengths women bring are essential, especially at a time when there’s pushback against diversity, equity, and inclusion. Women must lean in, own their value, and back themselves—while men actively support them too. Empowering women isn’t a zero-sum game; when women lead, everyone benefits. It takes courage for women to claim their space and fully use their voices.
What message would you share with aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
Keep making bets on yourself. When things don’t work out, harvest the failure for the learning it holds—there’s always treasure in the stumble. Spend time with people who stretch your thinking, help you grow wiser, and encourage you to think bigger. Learning, risk-taking, and reflection are lifelong practices.
What does success mean to you, personally and professionally?
Success is investing our time in people and pursuits that are deeply meaningful to us.
“Be willing to make a bet on yourself, learn from every stumble, and invest your time in what truly matters.”
