Linda Ugelow: Helping People Step Into the Spotlight Without Fear

Linda Ugelow

Linda Ugelow’s journey is one of courage, curiosity, and deep inner work. From organic farming to becoming a globally recognized speaking-confidence coach, Linda discovered that true impact begins when we heal what’s holding us back. Her story reminds our 5M+ community that empowerment is not only about visibility — it’s about feeling safe, supported, and worthy of using our voices. Humans of Fuzia is proud to feature Linda because her work aligns with our belief in both He for She and She for She — uplifting everyone who strives to help women rise with confidence.

Q: What inspired you to begin your entrepreneurial journey?
Linda: There was a moment when I realized I had always wanted to make a big impact — yet I was “hiding behind the kale” as an organic farmer. A business course prompted me to ask what I truly desired, and I knew that if I didn’t try to figure out my purpose, I would one day regret it. That awareness set me on a path of learning, coaching, and discovering where I could genuinely help people.

Q: How did your experience with fear of speaking shape the work you do today?
Linda: When live streaming became popular, I pushed myself to go live every day. Ironically, I was talking about reducing stress while feeling terrified myself. After 10 weeks, the fear hadn’t gone away — my heart raced, my mouth went dry, and I knew I didn’t just want to manage fear, I wanted to eliminate it. Using tools from expressive arts therapy and healing modalities, I uncovered childhood memories that made attention feel unsafe. Once I worked through those experiences, everything shifted. I felt relaxed on camera — and even excited to speak on stage.

Q: What milestones shaped the evolution of your work?
Linda: A big turning point was developing my signature process and then writing my book, Delight in the Limelight. It helped me clarify a three-part framework:

  1. Reveal and heal the root causes of fear,
  2. Restore safety in how we speak to ourselves, and
  3. Repattern habits so we can express our true, free selves.

From there, I developed programs and an accelerator to help people get comfy on camera, love their voices, and speak spontaneously without anxiety. I also launched the Delight in the Limelight podcast to expand these conversations into everyday areas of life, work, and leadership.

Q: What role does women empowerment play in your mission?
Linda: Growing up, I didn’t see many women working or leading — and I felt how limiting that could be. I wanted my daughter to see a different model: a woman who contributes, earns, and influences the world. For me, empowerment means women feeling valuable, having agency, and speaking freely in spaces where they’ve historically been silenced. Supporting women to find their voice — grounded, confident, and authentic — is central to my mission.

As Linda beautifully puts it: “When we clear the roots of fear, our natural voice rises — and with it, our ability to make a meaningful impact.”
