Why community—not competition—may be the greatest leadership advantage in 2026
For decades, women have been told to climb the corporate ladder. But as leadership becomes increasingly complex, one truth is becoming impossible to ignore: nobody reaches the top alone.
Through its global thought-leadership platform, Humans of Fuzia continues to spotlight entrepreneurs, coaches, and changemakers shaping the future of leadership, business growth, and socially conscious impact. Having worked closely with founders and growth-driven professionals worldwide, HOF understands the realities of scaling careers and businesses—and the importance of building systems that help people rise together.
In conversation with Priyanka Mishra, Virginia (Ginna) Santy, Executive Director of Women in Revenue, shared how a community that began with a simple question has evolved into a global movement empowering more than 10,000 members across 80 countries.
“Where are the other women who are approaching those very senior leadership levels? How can we find more of us, support more of us, and make sure that those who come after us don’t have to do it alone?”
That question laid the foundation for Women in Revenue eight years ago.
Redefining Leadership Coaching and Career Growth
While conversations around women in leadership often focus on barriers, Ginna sees something different.
“We often hear these narratives about women lacking ambition, and I have never found that to be the case. If anything, I am floored by the ambition and desire and push of our members.”
According to her, the challenge isn’t ambition—it’s access.
As professionals pursue promotions, transition into entrepreneurship, or prepare for executive roles, many find themselves navigating unfamiliar territory. From understanding profit-and-loss statements to presenting to boards and building personal brands, leadership requires skills that are rarely taught openly.
“We help women not leave things up to chance. Here’s what’s going to be in your future if this is the next step you desire, and we’ll help prepare you for that future.”
Building Growth Systems That Scale Leaders
Women in Revenue provides members with community platforms, mentorship programs, and its recently launched Power Fluency curriculum.
“There is a language and a grammar to power, and women are not exposed to that language in the same way that men are. How can we help women develop fluency in that language?” Ginna explains.
One member preparing for a final-stage interview presentation reached out to the community for support. Within hours, more than twenty women volunteered to review her presentation and provide feedback.
That, according to Ginna, is the power of intentional community.
“No job or role is going to give you every single thing you need to progress to the next place you want to get.”
Navigating Leadership Challenges in 2026
Like many mission-driven organizations, Women in Revenue faces challenges familiar to entrepreneurs and community builders: sustaining growth, securing strategic partnerships, and serving increasingly diverse audiences.
As a nonprofit, the organization relies heavily on corporate sponsors to deliver programming and expand its impact.
Yet perhaps the biggest challenge is balancing optimism with reality.
“Sometimes we get our blinders on, and we can’t see that there’s been some good work done.”
For Ginna, progress may not always feel dramatic, but meaningful change compounds over time.
Execution Tip
Don’t wait until you need help to build your support system.
Whether through mentors, peer groups, industry communities, or leadership programs, invest in relationships before the next opportunity arrives. Sustainable growth is rarely achieved alone.
