Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Coaching and Social Impact: Andrew Glass on Sustainable Growth Systems | Humans of Fuzia

Andrew Glass

Leadership is not about having every answer. It is about knowing when to step back, empower others, and focus on what truly matters. For leaders navigating complexity in 2026, that distinction can determine whether a team simply stays busy or creates meaningful impact.

At Humans of Fuzia (HOF), a global thought-leadership platform connecting leadership, entrepreneurship, coaching, women empowerment, and socially conscious business, these conversations explore what sustainable growth looks like beyond professional success. Drawing on insights from coaches and entrepreneurs worldwide, HOF examines the human decisions and business systems that shape lasting impact.

For Andrew Glass, executive coach and leadership facilitator, decades of international leadership experience have shaped a perspective grounded in cultural understanding, people development, and social impact.

From International Leadership to Purpose-Driven Coaching

Glass spent 30 years with the British Council, progressing from teaching and management into senior leadership roles across Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Working across cultures, he led teams and contributed to initiatives in education, cultural exchange, and international collaboration.

His transition into coaching was driven by a desire to continue developing people while supporting organizations creating positive social change.

“I thought, what are the two things I most like about the work in the British Council? And they were working with teams and developing people in the leadership teams and leading programs that had real social impact.”

He subsequently trained through Henley Business School and gained International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification, focusing on leaders and emerging leaders, particularly in international and purpose-driven organizations.

Leadership Development Begins With Better Priorities

Today’s leaders face competing demands, organizational transitions, and constant information flow. Glass observes that many feel overwhelmed, struggling to distinguish urgent tasks from meaningful priorities.

His coaching helps leaders question familiar routines and confront the decisions they may be avoiding.

“What are the big things? And if you’re putting off those big things, why are you putting off those big things?”

For small business leaders and coaching entrepreneurs, the lesson is practical: identify high-impact decisions, understand the hesitation behind them, and allocate time accordingly. Clear priorities strengthen execution, while focused messaging and a defined ideal client profile help coaching businesses communicate their value to the right buyers.

Why Empowerment Matters More Than Control

One misconception Glass challenges is that leaders must know everything and make every decision. Effective leadership, he argues, depends on delegation, trust, and recognizing the expertise already within a team.

A leader’s role is to create the conditions in which others contribute their knowledge, take ownership, and grow. This becomes particularly important when managing multicultural teams or navigating organizational transformation.

For growing businesses, scalable systems should therefore include clear responsibilities, decision-making authority, and regular team coaching, rather than relying entirely on the founder.

Building a Sustainable Coaching Business

Glass is candid about another challenge: maintaining a consistent flow of clients. Despite an extensive international network, he found that relationships built in one country did not always translate into continuing opportunities elsewhere.

His recent work illustrates the value of combining relationship-building with purposeful outreach. One engagement emerged through a former contact; another began with online outreach and conversations.

For coaches seeking sustainable business growth, this reinforces the importance of nurturing referral networks, identifying decision-makers, strengthening professional messaging, and building repeatable client acquisition systems. Speaking opportunities and thought leadership can also establish credibility, but visibility works best when connected to clear positioning and meaningful relationship-building.

Execution Tip

Identify one high-impact decision you’ve been postponing. Write down why you are avoiding it, the outcome it could influence, and the smallest action you can take tomorrow. If the decision involves your team, consider what you can delegate rather than manage yourself.
