Lauren Chiren: Empowering organizations and women worldwide to embrace menopause with confidence and support.

Lauren Chiren

Meet Lauren, a pioneering menopause coach and founder of Women of a Certain Stage. With over a decade of experience, she is dedicated to transforming how organizations and individuals understand and navigate menopause. Lauren trains coaches globally and partners with large corporations to foster menopause-friendly workplaces, enabling women to thrive during this natural life transition. Featured on Humans of Fuzia, her inspiring journey aligns with our 5 million-strong community’s mission of “She for She”—supporting women at every stage of life.

Can you tell us about your role as a menopause coach and what Women of a Certain Stage does?
I’m a menopause coach, but my primary focus is training others to become menopause coaches. Through Women of a Certain Stage, we certify and train people around the world. We also work with large organizations to help them become menopause-savvy and supportive. The goal is to have staff on hand who can support employees going through menopause, helping them to thrive and not be negatively impacted at work.

Who is your primary target audience?
We work across every sector but tend to focus on large global organizations. Our training programs create menopause coaches, champions, and mentors within these companies to ensure ongoing support.

How do organizations typically find out about your services?
It’s a combination of things. I do talks globally—recently in Johannesburg, soon at the Sydney Opera House—and frequently appear in media and press. We run free educational events regularly. After over a decade in this space, referrals from both organizations and the coaches we’ve trained have become a significant source of new business.

What major challenge is your work addressing?
By 2030, there will be 1.2 billion women in menopause worldwide. The challenge is ensuring quality support is available to all. My mission is to train 20,000 menopause coaches so that everyone has access to knowledgeable and compassionate help during this journey.

What are your key plans for 2025?
We plan to run multiple cohorts of our Menopause Coach, Champion, and Mentor programs. I will be speaking at around 18 events worldwide and continuing to collaborate with corporate clients to drive real culture change, moving beyond mere compliance to meaningful support.

Do you have a team helping you with this mission?
Yes, a dedicated team of about 14 people supports me in delivering these programs and expanding our impact.

What motivational advice would you give to professional women, entrepreneurs, and mompreneurs?
One of the biggest challenges women face in perimenopause and menopause is losing self-belief. We’re so busy caring for everyone else that we often forget to care for ourselves. My message is simple: believe in yourself, look after yourself, and pursue your dreams with confidence.

“Believe in yourself, take care of yourself, and don’t let menopause define your potential—embrace this stage and go after your dreams.”
