Q: What inspired your journey into mental health coaching and thought leadership?
A: I’m passionate about supporting individuals to reclaim their mental health. My book Claim Your Brain begins with my personal story as a mother and daughter navigating mental health challenges. Even though it shares my experience as a woman, the message resonates across genders because it’s a human story—one about connection and the impact we have on one another. Through True Living, I support individuals and organizations in improving mental and brain health for better performance, and I speak about the ripple effect we all create in each other’s lives.
Q: How do you currently create awareness about your work?
A: I primarily use LinkedIn and Instagram—both personal and business accounts—to connect with people. My website, trueliving.ca, is the main place where individuals can access everything: my newsletter, my book, and ways to reach out. It’s important to me that people feel they’re part of a shared human experience when they engage with my work.
Q: Do you manage your digital presence alone or with support?
A: I’m a solopreneur, but I work with independent contractors who support my website and social media. This helps me preserve my brain capacity for the most impactful parts of my work—speaking, coaching, and creating meaningful content.
Q: What are your aspirations for the coming years?
A: My mission is rooted in the idea of a 1% ripple effect on humanity’s mental health. Our mental health never unravels in isolation—it’s shaped by social, biological, and environmental factors. I want to continue speaking on stages as a thought leader, guiding people to understand this ripple effect. And if I’m to share a big, audacious goal: I would love to give a TED Talk on this one day.
Q: What challenges do you face as a solopreneur and thought leader?
A: Managing the many moving pieces of running a business while also doing the deep, impactful work I love is a constant balancing act. My biggest challenge is managing my mental capacity so that I can be my most authentic, high-quality self—both in my work and in the life I value deeply.
“When every individual claims their brain, we all feel the difference. Our personal mental health choices ripple outward—and together, we can positively impact the entire trajectory of humanity.”
