Gina Race: Helping professionals reclaim their time and balance through smarter work management.

Gina Race

Meet Gina Race, a passionate entrepreneur and founder of Weekwise—a time-planning and productivity tool designed for agencies, remote teams, and contractors. With years of experience in marketing agencies, Gina saw firsthand how time tracking often becomes a burden rather than a support system. Her mission is to simplify that process, empowering professionals to manage their time efficiently while maintaining balance in life. Humans of Fuzia is proud to feature Gina, whose journey reflects our mission of empowering women and allies across the globe to lead, inspire, and create meaningful change—embodying the essence of both He for She and She for She.

Q: What inspired you to start your entrepreneurial journey and create Weekwise?
Gina: My background is in marketing agencies, where we constantly track time across different clients and projects. I realized how complex and bulky most time-tracking systems were. I wanted to create something simpler—something visual and easy to use—that helps people reclaim their time and focus on what truly matters. That’s how Weekwise was born: to make time management intuitive and empowering.

Q: Who is your main audience, and how does Weekwise help them?
Gina: Weekwise is designed for agencies, remote teams, and contractors—essentially anyone who juggles multiple clients or projects. We built it with marketing teams in mind since priorities shift constantly in that space. The platform allows people to plan better, move unfinished tasks with one click, and collaborate easily. Managers can see what their teams are working on, ensure priorities align, and prevent burnout. For freelancers, it also helps track billable hours more accurately so they get paid fairly for their time.

Q: What are some of the benefits users experience when using your tool?
Gina: Many clients are surprised when they see how much time they spend on smaller clients compared to the revenue they generate—it helps them make smarter business decisions. Weekwise also helps teams identify inefficiencies like repetitive manual tasks or long internal meetings that can be optimized or automated. The ultimate benefit is clarity—knowing where time goes and how to use it better.

Q: As a founder, have you ever struggled with imposter syndrome? How did you overcome it?
Gina: Absolutely! I’ve experienced imposter syndrome throughout my career. I constantly remind myself that it’s okay not to have all the answers. I lean on my strengths—marketing and building from scratch—but I’m not afraid to seek help where I lack expertise. Surrounding myself with people who are smarter in specific areas helps me grow. It’s all about staying humble, asking questions, and remembering that learning never stops.

Q: Looking back, is there anything you wish you had done differently when starting out?
Gina: I wish I had spent more time in the planning phase before development. There were things we had to fix later that could have been avoided with better upfront research. Also, having more conversations with other founders early on would have helped me anticipate challenges and learn from their experiences.

Q: How do you personally define success today?
Gina: For me, success means enjoying the work I do while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As a mom of two, I value my family time deeply. I no longer subscribe to the “hustle all day” mentality. Success is about building something meaningful while keeping boundaries and prioritizing what truly matters.

Q: What kind of legacy do you hope to leave through your work?
Gina: I believe in people-first leadership and leading with empathy. I hope Weekwise helps people create balance in their professional lives so they can also live fulfilling personal ones. By helping others plan and prioritize effectively, I want them to spend their time on what brings the most value—both at work and in life.

Q: What challenges have you faced in your industry, and how have you tackled them?
Gina: The biggest challenge is standing out in a competitive space. There are many tools that do similar things, so communicating our unique value and showing users why switching is worth it takes effort. Convincing teams to adopt something new—especially when they’re used to older systems—is another hurdle. But focusing on real benefits and simplicity helps us bridge that gap.

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs just starting out?
Gina: Document everything and build processes from day one. Even if you’re working solo, you’ll eventually need to delegate. Having those processes in place will make scaling smoother. Also, regularly evaluate where you’re spending your time—focus your energy on the activities that create the most impact.

Q: Is there anything exciting you’re currently working on?
Gina: Yes! We’re launching AI-powered reporting soon. It will allow users to generate customized reports with a simple prompt—for example, comparing client hours or visualizing performance trends—without manually exporting or analyzing data. It’s going to make insights more accessible and actionable for teams of all sizes.

“Success is about creating something meaningful while living a balanced life,” Gina says—a reminder that growth and fulfillment go hand in hand. Her story is an inspiring example of how purpose-driven innovation can reshape how we work and live.
