What sparked your journey as a Conflict Transformation Specialist?
For me, it wasn’t an overnight decision—it was a journey of slow discovery that took nearly 20 years. I kept searching for something meaningful, and when I came across the field of conflict transformation, I instantly knew that was it. For the last 25 years, I’ve worked exclusively in this space, helping people and organizations address conflict constructively. It wasn’t a person who inspired me, but more of an internal drive that led me here.
What were the biggest challenges you faced in building your career?
I encountered two types of challenges. The first was gaining the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience, which took time and dedication. The second, and most difficult, was working on myself. I realized that to help others with their conflicts, I had to embark on a personal journey to understand my own internal conflicts. Self-awareness and inner work were just as critical as professional development.
Is there a moment or achievement that stands out in your journey?
For me, the greatest reward isn’t found in awards or accolades, but in those moments of transformation I witness in others. It’s when someone I’m working with looks into my eyes, and theirs light up with realization—as if a moment of enlightenment has occurred. That spark, that clarity in their expression, is the most fulfilling achievement I could ever ask for.
Do you work independently or do you have a support system?
I’ve been self-employed for the past 15 years, and I’ll be honest—it’s a slow, challenging process to build a business and reputation. Early on, I couldn’t afford formal help, so I leaned on my network. I exchanged support with others in my field, and I’ve never truly worked alone. Having people around you who can help is essential—it’s not a journey meant to be walked entirely solo.
What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
Unfortunately, even in 2025, women are still undervalued, underrated, and overburdened, especially when it comes to domestic responsibilities. Yet, women bring invaluable qualities to leadership spaces. We tend to be pragmatic, holistic thinkers, often seeing the bigger picture beyond short-term goals. Whether in companies, small businesses, or NGOs, women contribute long-term vision, which is critical for sustainable growth. There’s still work to be done, but I believe women’s unique insights are shaping the future for the better.
What advice would you give to aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
First, follow your heart. Don’t waste time doing work you don’t believe in—your passion is what will carry you through tough times. Second, never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something. It’s simply not true. With effort, determination, and the right support, you can accomplish anything. Lastly, just go for it—take that leap.
How do you define success?
Success is entirely subjective. It looks different for everyone—whether it’s wealth, recognition, family life, or personal growth. What matters most is defining what success means to you, being clear about it, and staying true to that vision.
“True success starts with knowing yourself, embracing your unique path, and never underestimating the power within you to create meaningful change.”
