Q: Evelyn, what inspired you to begin your professional journey?
My journey truly began with my late mother. I lost my father tragically when I was 15, and that moment shaped my entire life. My mother became the backbone of our family. She always told me that I could become whatever I wanted, as long as I had strong faith, set goals, and remained a good person. Everything I am today stems from those lessons she instilled in me.

Q: What challenges have shaped you the most, and how did you overcome them?
Losing my father at such a young age stayed with me throughout my life. I made a promise then — that I would never do anything to hurt my mother and that I would make her proud. Professionally, I’ve always set expectations for myself that were higher than anyone else’s. Challenges, to me, are opportunities for growth. Sometimes you have to jump into the deep end, even when it’s lonely. I’ve always believed that if you do what is right, good, and just — without selling your soul — great things will follow. That belief has guided every decision I’ve made.

Q: What has been your proudest milestone so far?
My family. My husband, especially, has been instrumental in my career. He pushed me to apply for executive-level positions that I never would have considered on my own. Every major leadership role I’ve held came from his belief in me. Beyond that, my faith has guided me deeply, particularly after my mother passed away. Even when things didn’t work out as planned, I trusted that I was landing exactly where I was meant to be.

Q: What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
While progress has been made, it hasn’t been enough. Women still surprise people when they walk into leadership roles. Confidence is essential. When you truly believe in yourself, you stop noticing that you’re the only woman in the room — because you’re there to lead. I also believe humility is critical. Confidence and humility can coexist. If you stay true to your principles and values, you will rise — and when you rise, you’ll bring others with you. That’s how organizations are elevated and cultures are transformed.

Q: Do you walk this journey alone, or do you have a support system?
I lead a strong leadership team, and I believe deeply in leaving egos at the door. While leadership can be lonely at times, I am fortunate to work with incredible individuals — many who are smarter than me. You have to be secure enough to hire people like that. I find joy in their success and recognition. We succeed because we work together, trust one another, and share accountability.

Q: What does success mean to you — professionally and personally?
Professionally, success means constantly moving the finish line. It’s about empowering people, creating a happy workforce, and fostering an environment where diverse ideas are welcomed. Personally, success is my family. I am blessed with an incredible husband and two sons — my “three kings.” I feel overwhelmingly grateful for the life I’ve been given. The next chapter for me is about helping others rise and pulling people along as I grow.

“Hold on to your principles, lead with humility, and never underestimate the power of doing what is right — great things will follow.”
