Empowering Leadership and Authenticity: A Conversation with Sabrina Safran Janeiro

Sabrina Safran Janeiro is the Owner and Founder of Greenlight Talent Coaching. With a background as a casting director and on-camera host, Sabrina specializes in helping professionals and entrepreneurs build their on-camera presence and become confident storytellers. She helps clients transform their video presence into a key asset for their business, making them go-to experts in their fields. Sabrina launched her business in 2024 after a transformative personal and professional journey.

What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and entrepreneur? Were there any specific events, challenges, or people that motivated you to take this path?
The inspiration behind my business came from what felt like a devastating event in the moment, but what I now see as a blessing in disguise. In July of 2023, I experienced a layoff at my previous corporate job where I was a casting director for a large media conglomerate, overseeing talent across multiple brands and outlets they own. When that happened, it gave me a moment to take a step back and reflect on how I wanted to write my story moving forward. Do I want to dive back into the corporate world and dedicate time and efforts in filling out endless job applications? Or was now my opportunity to take a leap of faith and start something of my very own?

After doing some soul searching, in February of 2024, my business Greenlight Talent Coaching was born, and I began to build its foundation during a period of profound personal transformation—navigating periods of immense grief within my personal life, while simultaneously celebrating meaningful milestones like marriage and moving. These parallel experiences of both challenge and joy helped further prepare me to work with clients in navigating their own on-camera evolutions and related business challenges, leveraging both emotional intelligence and practical strategy.

Looking back at the beginning of your career, what were the major challenges you faced when establishing yourself as a leader/coach? How did you overcome those obstacles?
As a solopreneur, it’s inevitable that I’ve faced an array of challenges from the inception of my business. However, working to overcome those challenges has opened many doors for me to learn and grow—not just professionally, but on a personal level as well. While I’ve always valued humility, navigating business growth has been a profoundly humbling journey. Finding my authentic voice and further establishing my presence in today’s saturated digital landscape continues to require embracing vulnerability and persistence—lessons that transformed both my approach and mindset.

An overarching challenge I’ve also faced is in trying not to compare myself to other young business owners and solopreneurs who have already achieved astronomical levels of success at what seems like an accelerated rate. However, anyone who owns any kind of business knows firsthand the amount of time and hard work (to say the very least) that goes into cultivating this kind of continued success.

Many times what we see online the most are founders and professionals posting their “wins,” successes and accomplishments and while I can genuinely and proudly say that I’m always the first to always cheer someone on, I believe it’s also important for all of us to address and share the obstacles and struggles that led us to where we are in the present moment. To support one another is to learn from and uplift each other.

Would you like to share any remarkable achievement?
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
I believe women’s leadership today represents a powerful testament to what becomes possible when we lift each other up. The most inspiring aspect of this evolution isn’t just seeing individual women succeed, but witnessing the ripple effects when women leaders actively mentor, sponsor, and create pathways for other women to excel.

Throughout history, women have often been conditioned to compete for limited seats at the table. What’s transformative now is seeing women leaders reject this scarcity mindset, instead embracing the philosophy that ‘there’s room for all of us to shine.’ When women leaders prioritize building inclusive cultures, challenging biased systems, and amplifying diverse voices, everyone benefits.

What I find most compelling about effective women leaders is their ability to create environments where authenticity is valued, collaborative approaches thrive, emotional intelligence is seen as a strength, and where the definition of leadership itself expands beyond traditional models. The future of women’s leadership isn’t just about equality in numbers, but about fundamentally reimagining what powerful, effective leadership looks like.

What message/advice would you have for future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs?
My advice to future women leaders and entrepreneurs is this: Your authentic voice is your greatest asset. Don’t dilute your business message or shrink yourself down as an individual to fit into spaces that weren’t designed for you. Instead, create your own table and invite others who share your values.

When we remain true to our values and center our authentic voices, many of us fear losing opportunities, material resources, or connections with people who might elevate our careers or who’ve played integral roles in our lives. The reality is that these aren’t losses—they’re opportunities to create space for what truly aligns with our values and vision. When we release what’s not meant for us, we make room for people who genuinely belong at our tables.

For me personally, this has been a profound lesson I’ve learned firsthand— not only as a solopreneur, but as a Palestinian small business owner, and as someone who’s remained incredibly passionate about advocating for Palestinian human rights at a time where speaking up has meant facing a plethora of difficult conversations, parting ways with certain connections and friendships, and navigating through polarized spaces—yet it has also continued to attract the exact community and opportunities that align with my deepest values, as well as my business.

Remember—true leadership isn’t about conforming; it’s about transforming—both yourself and the spaces you inhabit. Your unique experiences aren’t limitations—they’re your superpower and what will ultimately differentiate your leadership and business in a crowded marketplace.

When you lead with conviction and compassion, you not only advance your own success but create pathways for other people to follow.Get in touch:
