Q: What inspired you to begin your entrepreneurial journey?
Dr. Wendy: I started my journey over four decades ago, at a time when there was no Internet or social media, and the only thing you could do with a cell phone was make an expensive phone call. I had no business experience, very limited financial resources, and yet, I was led by spirit to start. My clients were major corporations and government agencies, which meant projecting a strong image—having employees, a brick-and-mortar office, inventory, and all the overhead that came with it. I didn’t know much about cash flow or business finances at the time, but I knew entrepreneurship was where I belonged. Guided by faith and the values my mother instilled in me, I tuned out outside noise and focused on what I was called to do.
Q: Do you work solo, or do you have a team supporting you today?
Dr. Wendy: Today, I don’t have employees in the traditional sense. I collaborate with contractors and partners—many of whom are my former employees who are now entrepreneurs themselves. Back in the day, business required brick-and-mortar operations, but now I’ve learned you don’t need that overhead to make an impact.
Q: What challenges have you faced, and how have you learned to overcome them?
Dr. Wendy: In the early days, my challenges were knowledge gaps—I didn’t know enough about business or financial systems. Now, my biggest challenge is technology. I’m old school, so adapting to new systems, AI, and fast-moving tech hasn’t always been easy. But I’ve learned to rely on experts and also to trust myself when things don’t go smoothly. I no longer panic—I know how to handle challenges manually if needed.
Q: What are some of your proudest milestones?
Dr. Wendy: Earning my doctorate while undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer is one of my greatest personal milestones. Beyond that, I cherish my supportive husband, my beautiful children and grandchildren, and the ability to empower others. Awards and accolades are nice, but for me, the real achievement is knowing I am a good person, living in alignment with my values, and not losing myself to outside influences.
Q: What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
Dr. Wendy: Women have always been leaders. We’ve been running things all along, but often without the credit. The perception that women aren’t capable is false—we’ve been leading since day one. It’s just time the world recognized it.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
Dr. Wendy: Keep your priorities in order. Follow what the spirit leads you to do, and don’t let outside influences sway you. People will tempt you to chase money at any cost, but always do the right thing. Choose the path that brings you peace.
Q: How do you define success, both professionally and personally?
Dr. Wendy: Success is achieving the goals you set, while remaining open to learning and growth. It’s not about money—it’s about living with empathy, integrity, and balance. At this stage of my life, success means knowing how to prioritize, how to say no, and how to live in alignment with my values.
