Q&A Interview:
Q: Debs, could you share a little about your background and journey?
Oh my God, it’s been quite the journey! I’ve lived in six countries and visited 78 — but I come from a small, poor, post-industrial town in North England. I lost my dad in an explosion when I was 14. That tragedy shaped so much of what came next. I’m also diagnosed autistic, so understanding social norms was something I had to learn the hard way. On top of that, I faced repeated personal trauma, including multiple assaults and the loss of my brother and pregnancies. But even in the midst of all that, I was building a life. I opened the first Pilates studio in Lake Como in my 20s and built a successful career. Yet, one day, I found myself in a place of such emotional weight that I walked into a suicide attempt. It wasn’t planned — I just broke. But I survived, and from that moment on, I knew I was meant to be here. That moment sparked a transformation.
Q: How did you begin your work as a transformative coach?
It all began with working on myself. I took a step back and committed to healing — hours each day, breaking down beliefs, forgiving those who hurt me, and rebuilding who I was from the inside out. I infused that work with my education in psychology and bodywork, and gradually my path merged into this beautiful coaching journey. Today, I work mainly with private clients in the UK, Italy, the US, and Spain — all through word of mouth. I’ve never really focused on digital promotion, but the clients find me. I think that says something.
Q: What’s your approach when working with clients?
It’s very personal and intuitive. I’ve struggled with finding the perfect label — I’ve got so many “niches” that chose me! So I call myself a transformative coach. I don’t follow a rigid method because every person has their own story. What works for one won’t always work for another, and I honor that. It’s part strategy, part beautiful mess. I love the intimacy of one-on-one work, but I’m planning to expand into small group sessions and eventually retreats in different countries. I want people to come together, heal, and empower each other — not just through me, but through shared experiences.
Q: What challenges do you face in your journey today?
Honestly, my biggest challenge is the digital world. I’ve put over £250,000 into my training, but I know I could be helping more people if I had a stronger online presence. I do write occasionally on LinkedIn, and I’ve been told countless times to start using Instagram or TikTok — and I will. I know the value of visibility, not just for me, but because even one post could make someone feel seen or spark a change in their life.
Q: What are your aspirations for the near future?
By the end of 2025, I want to be doing more group sessions and intimate retreats — combining travel and transformation. I love traveling and feel alive in that space. I want to create experiences where people can heal, learn from one another, and leave empowered. And yes, I plan to step into the digital space more intentionally to make this possible. But above all, I just want to live fully — working, healing, growing, and taking care of myself in the process.
“I’m just here on this journey — inspiring, serving, loving life, and living it to the full. Healing is not linear, but it is powerful. And we’re all capable of creating something beautiful from the pain we carry.”
