Dave Wolovsky: Turning habits into peaceful productivity

Dave Wolovsky

Dave Wolovsky is the founder of Self-Science Coaching, a habit-focused coach who designs personalized systems to help people work smarter, feel better, and get measurable results. Built from his career-coaching roots, his Self-Science method and accompanying app use experiments and habit tracking to tailor practices that actually fit a person’s life — which is exactly why Humans of Fuzia is featuring him: his practical, human-centred approach helps women (and everyone) build sustainable leadership and wellbeing from the inside out.

What inspired you to create Self-Science?

It came from my own struggles with overwork, injuries and health issues caused by modern work habits. I realised habits are everything — but no one-size-fits-all. So I built a system for testing and tailoring habits to each person, making sure they measurably improve life and actually stick.

How did you get your first clients and what were the early challenges?

I started by offering the system to past clients and my small LinkedIn/email list, often at a discount to get testimonials. One early client made a client-journey video that showed a clear transformation — that helped a lot. The challenge now is market fit: the people most interested tend to be those chasing peak productivity but feeling scattered by constant screen work.

Who is this system helping most right now?

People who feel scattered and exhausted by “screen toil” — those who work long hours but want better focus, energy, and quality. The system is about finding habits that keep you energised and effective, not just busy.

Are you a solopreneur or do you have a team?

I’m a solopreneur. I use freelancers sometimes and work out of a co-working space.

What’s your proudest milestone so far?

Building the coaching app. I “vibe-coded” it with AI (I don’t code myself) and turned it into a stable tool that pairs with my coaching method — it’s more than a course or a community; it’s a habit-experiment platform with AI features and analytics.

What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?

Historically women have been excluded from leadership. I believe we need to intentionally swing the pendulum — even beyond 50-50 — so women get the opportunities (and the room to make mistakes and learn) required to achieve lasting balance.

What message do you have for future women leaders and entrepreneurs?

The basics matter. As one business thinker I follow says: experts are simply the people who have done the basics more than others. Keep practising fundamentals, iterate, and don’t be afraid to test what works for you.

How do you define success — professionally and personally?

“Peaceful productivity.” It’s about doing the most important thing well, then being able to truly switch off. A short, achievable to-do list done well beats an endless list done poorly.

“Peaceful productivity” — that phrase sums up Dave’s mission: craft habits that let you produce meaningful work without burning yourself out.
