Daishania Meeks: Empowering Learners, Elevating Voices, and Embracing AI with Purpose

Daishania Meeks

Daishania (Daisha) Meeks is a professional speaker, entrepreneur, and career coach who is passionate about empowering individuals to navigate the evolving world of work. With experience in career development, AI ethics, and workforce training, she has dedicated her journey to creating opportunities for learners, organizations, and communities. As the founder of her own venture, Daisha is helping people master in-demand skills while fostering conversations about the responsible and ethical use of AI. Her story is one of resilience, community, and a deep belief in taking the leap—even before you feel ready.

Q: Daisha, what inspired you to step into professional speaking?
Daisha: It really started during my time as a technical career coach. I enjoyed curating events for learners and speaking about career development. Over time, I began facilitating workshops on AI, ethics, and governance. At first, I wasn’t sure if I could really do this, but the engagement I received showed me otherwise. Opportunities started coming my way, and I realized I could leverage my expertise to educate others—especially those transitioning into tech or exploring AI advancements.

Q: With your background in AI, what is your perspective on its impact—especially the fear that it might replace human jobs?
Daisha: I get asked that a lot. I even wrote an article on LinkedIn exploring whether we’re training AI to take over our jobs. AI is transforming the way we live and work—it’s leveling the playing field for those who know how to harness it. But the truth is, we’re the ones training these tools through our prompts, workflows, and tone. Yes, AI is streamlining processes—from financial approvals to film production—but we still need human creativity, strategy, and ethics.

For me, the key is balance. Organizations need AI policies and learning programs so their teams can adopt it responsibly. My work focuses on helping learners master the in-demand skills while supporting organizations in implementing AI in ways that drive impact, not fear. AI should be our partner, not our replacement.

Q: Along your journey, have there been any remarkable women who inspired or supported you?
Daisha: Absolutely. Most recently, I became a founding member of Women Love AI, a group based out of London. The founder, Alina, really inspires me—she grew the group from zero to over 200 members in less than 30 days, hosting both in-person and virtual meetups. It’s a space where women in AI support one another, and I’ve met some amazing women there, like Dia Colger and Melissa, who run their own ventures.

Being part of this network reminded me of the power of community. As an entrepreneur, it has been invaluable to connect with like-minded women who cheer each other on—whether it’s through a Slack group, text messages, or simply showing up for one another. It’s not about one person; it’s about the collective support that helps us all grow.

Q: What message would you like to share with budding entrepreneurs?
Daisha: Do it. Whatever idea, book, or project you’ve been sitting on—start now. I sat on the idea of starting my company for a long time because I didn’t feel “ready.” The truth is, you’ll never feel completely ready. You may fail, and that’s okay—it’s part of the process. But clarity comes through action. Take the step today, not tomorrow. That’s how you build momentum, learn, and ultimately grow.

“The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. You may not have all the answers, but action creates clarity. Don’t wait until you’re ready—start now.” – Daishania Meeks
