Cheryl Meyer is a health coach, author, and wellness advocate who transformed her life after battling multiple autoimmune diseases. Once a successful entrepreneur in the jewelry industry, Cheryl reached a breaking point when her health collapsed. Rather than give up, she chose to rebuild her life—losing 80 pounds, reversing her illnesses, and going back to school at the age of 67 to become a health coach. Now at 76, Cheryl has written seven books, hosted global podcasts, and continues to inspire people to embrace wellness in body, mind, and soul. Humans of Fuzia is featuring Cheryl because her story is a powerful reminder that women can reinvent themselves at any stage of life. Her journey encourages our 5 million community members to embrace resilience, self-care, and self-belief—values that resonate deeply with our mission of She for She and He for She.
Q: Cheryl, can you share how your wellness journey began?
Absolutely. I used to design and manufacture jewelry in China and India, but I pushed myself so hard that I bankrupted my body. I woke up one morning unable to move, with everything hurting. I had two autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and a fatty liver. My staff ran my business while I worked on getting myself back to wellness. Over time, I lost 80 pounds, reversed my conditions, and realized I wanted to share what I learned. So, I sold my business and went back to school at 67 to become a health coach.
Q: That’s incredible. What steps did you take to reclaim your health?
I eliminated toxins everywhere—food, personal products, cleaning supplies, even mental toxins like stress. I practiced yoga, learned to manage cortisol levels, and made lifestyle changes. I also ended a long-term relationship that wasn’t aligned with my healing journey, which opened the door to meeting my true life partner. It was a full transformation—body, mind, and soul.
Q: How did this journey lead you to writing and coaching?
When I graduated from health coaching school, I already had years of research stored in files. I turned that into a 500-page book about eliminating toxins and restoring balance. Since then, I’ve written seven books, done over 400 podcast guest spots, and created my own shows that reached 70 countries. My husband and I even launched our own publishing company. I now focus on nourishment, mindset, and overall wellness because true health is about much more than diet—it’s a way of living.
Q: Do you run your work alone or with a team?
I mostly work solo, but my husband is my biggest partner. I’m the creative one, and he’s the technical brain—editing, publishing, and producing. Together, we make a great team. We recently moved to Sedona, Arizona, which is a place full of inspiration and learning for us both.
Q: What are you currently working on?
I’m preparing for a retreat at our home outside Sedona, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, with the theme “nothing is impossible unless you think it is.” The retreat focuses on healthy eating, self-love, stress release, and manifestation. I also just launched a free book called Radical Self-Care, where I redefine self-care as everything that builds resilience—food, sleep, stress management, mindset, even chakra balance.
Q: What advice would you give to women in our community?
Don’t let anything stop you. Nothing is impossible unless you believe it is. You might fail at first, but keep going and approach your challenges from new angles. Age is just a number—I’m 76, still learning, still growing, and still creating. You have way more power over your body and life than you’ve been told. Own it, and you can heal and thrive.
“Life just keeps getting better. Keep learning, keep growing, and never stop believing in your power to heal and create the life of your dreams.” – Cheryl Meyer
