What inspired you to start your journey as a leadership and team coach?
Initially, I wanted to become a doctor, but life took me in a different direction. I pursued business studies and started a corporate career. But along the way, I realized I wasn’t having the impact I wanted. That changed when I joined a leadership program where I met coaches for the first time. It sparked something in me. I started studying coaching on the side while working for Starbucks, and when they closed our office, I saw it as the perfect moment to fully step into coaching. I knew I didn’t want to return to the same corporate environment, so I followed my passion for helping people grow.

Starting over must have come with challenges. What were the biggest hurdles you faced in this transition?
Oh yes, plenty of them! Even though I was already certified, including holding my PCC from the International Coaching Federation, building a coaching career from scratch is tough. One of my first struggles was making the career change without properly discussing it with my family. It wasn’t an intentional plan at first; it just happened. Another challenge was learning to charge for my services. As someone passionate about helping people, it felt uncomfortable at first. Over time, I learned to navigate that. The ups and downs of income were another struggle, but I realized everything comes down to mindset. Life, just like those heart monitor graphs in hospitals, is full of ups and downs — if it’s flat, you’re not alive! It’s about learning to manage those lows and keep going.

Are you managing your business alone, or do you have a team supporting you?
I’m a solopreneur, but I believe in support systems. I have my own coach, a supervisor, and collaborate with people for marketing, my website, and accounting. It may look like I’m working solo, but there’s always a small network helping behind the scenes.

What are your thoughts on women in leadership and empowerment today?
I don’t like separating men and women in this conversation. I believe true leadership comes from activating both feminine and masculine energy within all of us, regardless of gender. It’s about empathy, confidence, and self-awareness. What I notice, especially with women — but men too — is a lack of confidence often holds them back. Building self-awareness, understanding your inner critic, and learning what truly matters to you helps overcome those limitations. Once you find that confidence, doors open more easily because you’re no longer wasting energy on self-doubt.

“Leadership starts with knowing yourself, building confidence, and embracing both your strengths and your vulnerabilities. That’s how real impact happens.”
