Anna Blue: Building Stronger Futures Through Social Impact and Authentic Leadership

Anna Blue

Anna Blue’s journey is one of resilience, reinvention, and impact. With a deep background in the nonprofit and social impact space, she has worked tirelessly to align businesses with meaningful change. When an unexpected career shift challenged her path, Anna transformed the setback into an opportunity—launching her own venture that now supports organizations in building strategies, amplifying influence, and fostering equity. Her story is a testament to the power of authenticity, community, and leading with purpose—values that resonate deeply with Humans of Fuzia’s 5M+ global community working toward empowering women and creating change together.

Q: What inspired you to start your entrepreneurial journey?
Anna: My career has always been rooted in social impact, bridging the nonprofit and corporate worlds. Earlier this year, after an unexpected leadership change left me without a job, I found myself at a crossroads. Almost immediately, people began reaching out asking for my support—whether it was building influence around an event, creating strategies, or amplifying visibility. What started as one consulting project turned into multiple opportunities. I realized that I am a builder at heart—I love taking something and making it stronger. That’s how my company was born, somewhat accidentally, and today I’m fortunate to be working with clients across industries, helping them make their initiatives more impactful.

Q: What challenges have you faced in building your business?
Anna: Relationship-building is my superpower, but I’ve never seen myself as a “salesperson.” My career has been about raising funds and building partnerships based on impact, not selling myself. Transitioning into entrepreneurship, I’ve had to learn how to view my services as a business, to think about contracts ending, income replacement, and growth strategies. Shifting my mindset from selling good to selling services has been a big challenge—but one I’m learning to navigate every day.

Q: What does your current team look like?
Anna: Right now, it’s mostly me. I do have two part-time team members—one helps with business operations, and the other is a brilliant young professional eager to learn and grow. Building a full-time team is definitely my goal. What keeps me excited is the fact that former colleagues and partners often reach out asking if I’m hiring yet. That level of trust and belief in my leadership means a lot to me.

Q: What has been your proudest milestone so far?
Anna: I’d call it humbling rather than proud. A company recently asked me to use my voice and platform to authentically promote their work. I’ve never seen myself as an influencer, but they recognized that my voice—focused on equity, power, and lifting others as we climb—resonates deeply. To have people value that authenticity and see me as someone who can move others to act is incredibly meaningful.

Q: What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
Anna: We’ve made progress, but the challenges remain steep. Pay gaps still exist, systemic barriers still hold women back, and we’re too often offered “confidence training” instead of structural change. We’ve been in the workforce for decades, yet companies still announce their “first female CEO” as if it’s groundbreaking. True equity won’t happen until systems evolve. That said, women are making powerful moves, and our way of leading—collaborative, authentic, and impactful—is exactly what the world needs more of.

Q: What message do you have for aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
Anna: Build community. We often fall into the trap of judging other women, but the truth is—we rise higher when we lift each other up. Success doesn’t happen in isolation. Collaboration, authentic leadership, and sending the elevator back down for the next woman are critical. We should lead as ourselves, not in the mold of men, because women’s leadership is powerful, proven, and transformative.

Q: How do you define success for yourself?
Anna: To me, success isn’t about titles or salaries. It’s about showing up every day, doing the best I can, and leaving things better than I found them. Whether I’m building strategies, mentoring others, or simply supporting my community—if I’m doing good and making a positive impact, I consider myself successful.

“Success is loving what I do, doing it well, and creating something that leaves the world better than I found it.” – Anna Blue
