Adebola Olomo: Championing Women’s Voices in the Age of AI

Adebola Oloma

Adebola Olomo’s journey is one of resilience, reinvention, and leadership. From her early days navigating the tech industry in Nigeria to breaking barriers in Ireland and now London, Adebola has consistently embraced challenges as opportunities to grow. Today, she stands as a voice for women in artificial intelligence, advocating for inclusion, representation, and empowerment. Her story is a reminder that no matter where we begin, what truly matters is the courage to keep moving forward and lifting others along the way.

Q: What inspired your career journey?
I’ve always had the urge to do something meaningful, even from a young age. While waiting to attend law school, I began working as an executive assistant in a web design company. That exposure to tech and business development sparked something in me. Over time, I realized my passion wasn’t just in using technology but in teaching, coaching, and helping others see its value. That mindset guided me through every transition—from Nigeria to Ireland, and now to London.

Q: Moving to a new country often brings challenges. How did you adapt when you moved to Ireland?
It was tough at first. Despite my years of experience, I kept hearing the phrase “local experience.” It was frustrating, but instead of giving up, I enrolled in a master’s class. That experience not only gave me theoretical knowledge in marketing but also helped me understand the culture, language, and way of working in Ireland. Once I embraced their system, doors started opening, and I was able to help others, too, by referring them into opportunities.

Q: What drew you into the world of AI?
When AI started making waves, I asked myself one important question: What disruption will it bring into marketing? That curiosity drove me to study AI, gain certifications, and eventually start speaking about it. The more I learned, the more I realized the importance of women being part of this conversation. Representation matters. If women aren’t on panels, writing books, or speaking about AI, young girls won’t see themselves in this future. My mission is to change that.

Q: What message do you want to give to women about AI?
We don’t have to know everything before we raise our hands. Too often, women wait until they’re 100% confident before stepping up, while men are confident even when they know just a little. We can’t afford to repeat that mistake in the AI era. We need women to take up space, share their voices, and lead in this field—because the more we’re seen, the more young girls will be inspired to step into science, technology, and leadership.

Q: What are you currently working on?
I’m working on building agentic AI—what I believe is the future of work. Soon, organizational charts won’t just have human roles but AI agents working alongside us. Unlike chatbots, these agents will sound and act like humans, trained with cultural and brand nuances. My role ensures we build these systems with a marketer’s eye, embedding values and localization. It’s exciting to be at the intersection of marketing and AI innovation, shaping how humans and technology will coexist in the workplace.
