What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.

I am a first-generation Filipino American. I grew up in Houston, Texas.

Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business/initiative? What motivated you within to say, “YES, go for it!”?

Many baby brands start at the ground level or what I always say, “in someone’s garage.” Because of my in-depth experience, I can take ideas and bring them to life quickly.

Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?

Being an entrepreneur can have its joys and many wins, but so do other callings in life, such as being a mom, sister, friend, or wife. I think it’s important to stay grounded in who you are and remember that at the end of the day, the best things in life can’t be bought.

Women are a growing force in workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women in leadership today?

It’s come a long way. I can appreciate the journey and the struggles of women in the past who had to step up into the workforce when there was a need. It’s in the nature of women to always fill the gap and find solutions to problems. I’m proud to be a part of that movement in a small way. I’m also extremely thankful for the strong men in my life who have given me great examples of strong business ethics and how to treat people well.

What’s the most important thing you have learned in your personal life and professional journey? What is your personal motto in life?

Perseverance and perspective. Hardships and challenges can either make you or break you. It’s how you handle and view those hardships that define your growth. My motto is the same as my family’s—if everyone were like me, what would the world be like?

With your grit and determination, you are making a considerable impact, breaking through, and serving as a role model for many budding entrepreneurs. What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?

Start somewhere. It should always be one foot in front of the other, no matter what you’re doing in life.
