A Journey of Resilience, Healing, and Empowerment

As a creative educator and entrepreneur, Mylee Star Hawk brings her passion for art, nature, and spiritual philosophy into her work, using her own experiences to help others heal and grow.

What were your initial years of growing up like?

Childhood was a challenging journey, beginning with the loss of my mother and sister at the age of two. By thirteen, I had attended thirteen schools, spent time in foster care, and even faced juvenile detention. At that point, I moved in with my grandmother and met two lifelong friends who became like sisters. These relationships, along with my grandmother’s support, gave me a foundation for healing. Overcoming 40 years of domestic violence, I’ve dedicated the last two decades to personal growth and self-acceptance, finding strength in art, music, dance, and self-expression.

What motivated you to start your business or initiative?

Reflecting on my own experience of living in survival mode, I understood the depth of generational trauma many people endure. After earning my Master’s degree, I began working with individuals seeking healing. My desire to provide guidance for self-directed healing led me to create Mama Star’s Healing Circle, where I publish educational content and offer a guidebook on healing through art, nature, and spiritual philosophy.

What is one message you’d like to share with young, aspiring women entrepreneurs?

We are sisters, and it’s time to uplift each other. Women should work together to create the changes we want to see in the world, helping each other rise instead of competing.

Your thoughts on women in leadership today:

A woman leader should serve all people, not just a select few. There is enough violence in the world, and women in leadership have the power to change that narrative.

Your personal motto and advice to young women leaders:

My motto is: “The only limits are the ones we place upon ourselves; therefore, I have no limits in achieving my dreams.” To young leaders, I would say: live authentically, love yourself, and always follow your dreams.
