Tell us about your path — how did your journey bring you here?
I’m a journalism graduate, so writing has always been a big part of my life. I started off working at an evening newspaper where I wrote lifestyle articles. I loved the creative side of it. Later, I moved into social media at an advertising agency and worked with some big brands. While I learned a lot, the rigid on-site setup wasn’t ideal, especially with Chennai’s weather and the long hours of just being present even when I had no real tasks.
I knew I needed something more flexible, something that respected time and creativity. That’s when I came across a remote opportunity at the right time — it felt like everything just clicked. It gave me the space to grow and feel aligned, and I haven’t looked back since.
What’s a value you live by every day — and is there a childhood memory connected to it?
A value I live by every day is not taking things personally and believing in the goodness of people. I truly value human connections and kindness.
I didn’t have the easiest childhood, so I don’t really connect any good things back to it. Most people say they prefer their childhood days and would go back in a heartbeat if they had the chance — but for me, adulthood has been a much better chapter: more peaceful, more freeing. Just like that song goes, “When I get older, I will be stronger, they’ll call me freedom, just like a waving flag” — that’s exactly how I feel now. I finally feel free to live by my values and enjoy life.
Can you recall a moment (big or small) that made you feel really proud?
There have been so many moments that made me proud. Receiving two awards definitely stands out, it reminded me that my efforts were seen and appreciated.
But even on a regular day, when clients appreciate my ideas or results, it makes me proud. I love that I’m treated like an expert, I bring ideas to the table, and people genuinely listen. That feeling of being respected for your skills? It’s unbeatable. It’s like a high that keeps me going.
What has being part of the team meant to you?
It’s been such a peaceful and supportive experience. And honestly, peace of mind is everything. That’s something I didn’t find in previous jobs, and it’s one of the main reasons I’ve stayed this long.
The community here is kind, encouraging, and it feels like a space where I can thrive without constant pressure. It’s rare to find a workplace that actually feels this healthy, and I’m grateful for it.
What message would you give to someone who wants to be in your kind of role?
If you’re someone who loves writing, reads a lot, watches good content, and enjoys the world of marketing, this field can be a natural fit for you. The key is to work with your strengths.
For me, this didn’t feel like a forced career move. It aligned with who I am and what I enjoy. That’s the trick — you have to grow with it, stay updated, but if it’s your thing, it won’t feel like a struggle. It’ll feel like something you want to do, every day.
“Peace of mind is the real success — and creativity thrives best where it feels free.”
From newsroom stories to client campaigns, from rigid offices to remote freedom, Madhumitha’s journey reminds us that choosing alignment over convention can lead to not just success, but true fulfillment.
