Dr Anna Burmistrova

Dr Anna Burmistrova, PhD, tells us that, “I am a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist running a private hypnotherapy clinic in South West London. I have been working with various mental health disorders including anxieties, stress related disorders and phobias. My broad experience of working with various mental health disorders has led me to the firm conviction that a lot of mental health disorders can be prevented with the help of psychoeducation about stress management and resilience building. I have suffered from an anxiety disorder in the past myself and have developed my own daily routine of stress management which includes breathing techniques, meditations, daily walks in nature and running along the banks of the river Thames.

Before you became the business titan you are today, enlighten us about the thrilling adventures of your pre-business life.

Before I started running my hypnotherapy clinic in 2021, I had been practicing  meditations with various teachers for a few years in the hope to solve my anxiety issues which I had been suffering from at that time. Then I became a licensed teacher of mindfulness and meditation. I was still looking for a more evidence based approach to balancing the mind when I came across Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. In my mind it was a blend of spiritual and scientific approach to the topic with plenty of research and years and years of practical experiments.

Could you elaborate on the nature of your initiative/ business/current role, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?

I am dedicated to promoting mental health benefits of stress management and resilience building providing support and resources to individuals of all ages, small groups, communities and companies through individual and group therapy, workshops and courses. Being a working single mum myself, I particularly focus on helping working mums achieve their goals using cognitive behavioral strategies and Hypnosis.

What has been the response of the users/consumers towards your venture?

I am very happy that I have been able to help hundreds of people to manage their stress and anxiety which allowed them to lead the kind of life they were striving for without burnout and health problems.

Having a strong support system is essential for your well-being. We would love to know who your biggest supporter is. Share with us and let’s celebrate the amazing people in our lives who make a positive impact.

My support system is my family and friends. I strongly believe that it’s virtually impossible to achieve one’s goals on your own. Being surrounded by like minded individuals is one of the most essential parts of any person’s success.

As a woman entrepreneur, what changes do you hope to see in the world and what opportunities are you seeking?

As a founder of Resilient Minds, I strongly believe in the association’s mission to promote the mental health benefits of stress management and resilience building. I believe that mental resilience is a set of particular skills which can be taught from early childhood years and across a wide variety of populations. These are the most essential skills which people need to be successful in dealing with work challenges, relationships and parenthood hardships or being a school pupil. I am seeking an opportunity to work with a broader audience so these skills are available to more and more people.

Women now stand shoulder-to-shoulder with men in the workplace, breaking through glass ceilings to reach the top. What are your thoughts on women’s leadership today?

I think that we need more women in the position of leading the minds of people. At these times of instability we need more voices of women with strong views on how we can bring stability, support, kindness and hope for a better future to our communities.
