Nitin Garg

Nitin Garg  is an Integral Leadership Coach.

If your business could have a mascot, what would it be and why?

Turtle – Slow and steady wins the race. Too many of us in the World have been trained to be rabbits as if there’s a magic carrot that will eventually satisfy our hunger for success. Success follows when our ‘how’ for getting there is much more important than the destination itself. Our experience of success is always in the moment. It’s this moment right now, right here where success lies. When we slow down to make this moment successful, the rest follows.

What strategies do you employ to maintain a healthy work-life balance while running your own business?

I set an intention for the day as my first thought when waking up. I build in thinking time and meditate before we get going with the kids in the morning.

There’s always competing priorities on any given day so I always ask – What’s the most impactful thing I can do today? What will make today a success? I prioritize that.

Anytime I have 5-10 minutes between meetings, I will do a short exercise to re-energize the body such as squats, lunges, inhale-flex & release. This helps me keep good energy throughout the day.

When faced with unexpected detours on your business path, how do you pivot with grace and resilience, showing fellow women entrepreneurs the way forward?

Always ask – what has changed about the needs of my clients / customers? How might their expectations have shifted in this evolving technological landscape? The best way to navigate the unexpected is to have a mechanism for frequent client feedback. It helps to have an internal ‘board’ of customers where you can get feedback in hours vs. weeks.

How do you measure the success of your business beyond financial metrics, such as customer satisfaction or community engagement?

There’s nothing that replaces a happy client. When I’ve served a client powerfully, I can see it in their face and their gratitude for our conversation which is often followed by a great testimonial or referral to another potential client. When we serve our clients / customers well, the financial metrics take care of themselves.

Can you share a memorable moment where you witnessed significant growth or transformation in your business, illustrating the impact of your services/products?

Yes, it was when I started receiving client referrals. That really changed everything.  Nothing beats getting recommended and in the coaching business, positive word of mouth is the ultimate measure of success.

What role do you believe mentorship plays in the success of small businesses, and how have mentors influenced your own entrepreneurial journey?

I believe in creating a success board. This board consists of past managers who have had significant impact in your growth, peers you respect, industry experts and someone outside your zone of expertise (a coach or an advisor) who can help you zoom out, challenge your thinking and see around the corners that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to. I seeked out and was blessed to have many great mentors throughout my career – managers, senior leaders and coaches who greatly influenced my career.

What’s your work all about, and how does it make a difference in the world?

My clients are ambitious leaders who desire to create a positive impact in the world in alignment with their values. I help them realize their highest potential by helping elevate their level of self-awareness, clarity around what really matters and becoming highly intentional in thought, speech and actions. I help them recognize the patterns behind a challenge & build capacity to address current and future situations on their own. I utilize several key tools to help bring this about in my practice including my experience as a product leader at a Fortune 100 company, positive intelligence, the enneagram and my training as a yoga and meditation teacher. I love seeing the faces of my clients light up when they experience a personal or professional breakthrough and gain a sense of clarity and groundedness on their path ahead.
