Tell us about your life before the venture/ leading up to your venture?
I used to be a corporate woman, who was always overworked, underpaid with a 6 figure salary, had a social life, mortgage and passion for fashion items, and was waiting for the love of my life to get married and have children with. In the meantime, I bid my time with incessant study for my role, alcohol to relax at the end of the day and tough boot camp style workouts in the day. I felt numb and silenced for a long while and felt like no one in my life really knew what I was going through. The pain of hiding my dissatisfaction with my “perfect on paper life” grew until one night I sat in front of the TV with my glass of red wine in hand, and I had a moment of truth, with an inner voice shouting at me from within “This cannot be it for me” and everything changed from that moment.
Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
Seva Transformation Academy offers holistic yoga courses to certify people to become yoga teachers. It also offers a step by step group coaching program to heal Anaemia with Ayurveda and we offer one on one coaching and mentoring to help our clients gain self mastery in their life and energy.
What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?
Our business has shifted from being an in-person community for 10 years to an online business in 2020.
During these years I have appeared on SBS News and ABC Radio, been a guest speaker at International Yoga Day at the Parliament House of NSW, and have been a contributor to Hindu Council of Australia’s annual Yoga Day event from the inception to now.
I’m a paid contributor at Nourishdoc and Women’s Wellness Hub lead by Women’s Health Coach Desiree Taylor and I have been a guest speaker on Money & Wellbeing and Desiree Taylor’s podcast shows sharing about Ayurveda.
I lecture at Australian Institute of Higher and Further Education for Ayurveda and support group mentoring to my online yoga course participants.
Our 10 week online yoga teacher training programs are our most popular taking, along with the one on one seasonal Ayurveda consultations to help support digestive support for the majority of our clients.
How has your life changed because of your venture?
Yes it has. My values, goals, vision and mission are all existing because of this venture.
Give a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.
If you are alive right now, know that you belong here and you have within you a Shero to actualize your unique potential. If you get committed to show up and embrace the Shero within you, you will cause a ripple effect and empower other women to do the same.
Can you imagine the kind of tomorrow we would then start creating?
